The City, Season 3, Episode 11

"Roommate Wanted"

ROXY

Roxy asks Samantha to go look at apartments with her. Awkward -- particularly since Sami doesn't like Roxy. Weird. Anyhow, she looks at one place that is almost 800 sq. ft. and $4,000/mo. HOLY SHIT! Sorry, that warranted an expletive. Roxy is stunned (as am I) but Sami tells her that it's furnished and in a great location and that's just how much a place of that size is per month. Roxy brats that she's going to need her dad to help her because she needs to get out of Whit's place ASAP. Roxy tells Sami that Whit doesn't even know she's looking at places.

VINTAGE CLOTHING EXPO

Erin and Kate (executive accessories editor for Elle) run into Whitney at the Expo and she tells them that she's looking for inspiration for her line. Erin and Kate are there looking for accessories for the upcoming Ashley Greene shoot. Erin asks if Whit has any black dresses they could consider and Whit says that she'll send some over right away. YAY!!!

ROXY

Roxy meets her dad, Ken Olin (!!!!! - I love him. I've loved him since Thirtysomething!! And I love Brothers and Sisters and Roxy's mom on that show!!), for lunch to ask for $$$$. Her dad asks how Whitney is doing and Roxy tells him that they aren't getting along. He is shocked because he says Whitney is such a sweet girl. HAHAHA!! Roxy explains that NYC and Kelly Cutrone have gotten to her and given her a thicker skin. Hmmm. Next Roxy tells him about the safe apartment in a great neighborhood with hardwood floors. She says that it's $4000/mo, but that's a total deal in NYC. Ken Olin is an awesome father. He tells Roxy that he doesn't think he can help her keep figuring out what she doesn't want to do with her life. She needs to figure out what she DOES want to do. He tells her that if she moved home, she wouldn't have to pay rent or have any of those additional expenses. Shit, I'll move in with him and Patricia Wettig. I don't even like dogs and I'd walk their dogs. Roxy says no way, Jose.

He tells her that he can't foot the bill anymore. He's given her a year and she's not any closer to figuring out what she wants to do with herself. He's been supportive of her moving to NYC and figuring out things and being creative, but he's not going to pay for it anymore. That's hard...for both of them.

ASHLEY GREENE PHOTOSHOOT

Olivia shows up and her "friend," Alexis Bryan Morgan, is there prepping for the shoot. Erin and Joe show up and bring in some Whitney Eve stuff. Alexis loves the stuff and Joe tells Olivia to make sure that a Whitney Eve piece makes it into the shoot. Olivia says that they have some more important things to shoot than Whitney Eve, but she'll "try." Erin and Joe smirk at each other and Joe says that he would really like to see a Whitney Eve piece in the shoot. HAHAHA! Olivia sucks. She really really sucks. Not only can she not be happy for her former colleague, she wants to actively see her fail. Bitch.

Alexis tells Olivia that she knows she's not happy about including Whitney Eve in the shoot, but Joe really likes it, so it's going in. She tells Olivia that she trusts her to make it look great and Olivia says that there is only so much she can do. What an F-ing bitch. STFU and be professional. Jeez.

PEOPLE'S REVOLUTION

Or Passive Aggressive Central. Roxy and Whitney are working next to one another and not saying a word. Kelly walks in and asks what's going on. Whit tells her about running into Erin and sending some looks to her for the Ashley Greene shoot. Roxy says to be careful with celebrities because you can't FORCE them to wear your clothes. Whit says that hopefully Erin will make sure it gets done. Kelly can't stand the passive aggression and tells Whit to get over everything because there's a charity event tonight. Whit says that she'll ask Sami to come with her. Kelly says that there's obviously something going on between Whit and Roxy but she's not a therapist and she doesn't really give a shit. All she cares about is Whit putting on a happy face at the event and looking like she believes in the charity.

ASHLEY GREENE PHOTOSHOOT

Joe brings Ashley to the back where all the clothes are and puts a Whitney Eve jacket on her for the Elle.com interview. Olivia does the interview even though she's hating every minute of it because Ashley is wearing Whitney Eve. She asks stupid questions and then Joe tells Olivia to ask Ashley what she's wearing. Olivia, of course, asks what the shoes are. Ashley answers and then tells Olivia who the dress is and that the jacket is Whitney Eve. Olivia says that she loves the skirt and the shoes. Joe has a "WTF is wrong with her?" look on his face.

CHARITY EVENT

Sami and Whit arrive and Sami tells her about looking for apartments with Roxy. Whitney is annoyed that Roxy didn't tell her since she's her roommate and all. Whitney brings up the apartment search with Roxy in the middle of the show and Kelly is all kinds of pissed. She tells them to STOP! After the show, Whit walks out and tells Sami that she can't fight with Roxy about this right now.

ASHLEY GREENE SHOOT

Joe pulls some gold cuffs for the next shot and Olivia asks him for a second of his time. She tells him that there's an opportunity that has come up in Japan to host an event and she wanted to cover it for Elle.com. Joe says that it's the busiest time of the year right now and Olivia interrupts that she could contribute a lot with this piece. He asks what exactly she wants to contribute. She says that she can do a street fashion segment in Tokyo and she can get to know people in the Elle offices there, too. Joe says that those are "valid points" but I totally disagree. He tells her to write it up in a proposal and he'll talk to Robbie about it. Basically, Olivia wants to go to Japan and she wants Elle to pay for it. HAHA.

ERIN & SETH

Seth brings up Olivia going to Tokyo. Erin doesn't think she'll be missed. Seth: "Maybe if we get Olivia to Japan for the short term, we get rid of her for the long term." HAHA!

WHITNEY'S APARTMENT

Roxy is packing up and Whit is shocked. She wasn't expecting it all to happen so fast. Roxy tells Whit that she's staying with Sami for awhile. Whit is disappointed that they are leaving things so unsettled. She offers to help Roxy but Roxy wants to be a martyr.

See you next week!

The City, Season 3, Episode 10

"Stage Fight"

ELLE MAGAZINE

Joe Zee, Erin and Olivia are in Joe's office and Joe tells them that they are in a bit of a crisis. Erin booked the Martha Stewart show and they are asking for one more designer. Joe and Robbie have decided on Prabal Gurung. Olivia doesn't know him personally but she supports their choice. Joe tells her that Erin needs research on him: Background, history, education, looks and why is he one of the up and coming designers for Elle. Joe gets nervous and hands Olivia a pad of paper and a pen so that she doesn't screw this up. She tries to tell Joe that she knows, but Joe tells her to write it down anyway because it has to be perfect. HAHA!

PEOPLE'S REVOLUTION

Kelly's friend, Gian, manages Lights who is a huge hit in Canada. Lights is performing in NYC but she just got ROBBED. So Kelly assigns Roxy to "dress" Lights in Whitney Eve. Kelly tells Roxy that it would be a VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY bad thing if one of the outfits was NOT Whitney Eve. Pressure is on.

PRABAL GURUNG SHOWROOM

Olivia and Joe are looking a various looks. Olivia puts one together that they both love. Then Prabal picks his favorite dress and asks Olivia to wear it on the red carpet. Ugh. I know it makes me a bad person, but I hate to see her succeed at anything.

PEOPLE'S REVOLUTION

Gian and Lights meet Roxy to pick out some looks for the show. Whitney Eve really isn't her style. Her eyes keep wandering over to some of the other designer's in the showroom. Roxy tries to get her back on track by suggesting that she pair another outfit with a Whitney Eve jacket or something. Lights tries on the look and Roxy grabs a Whitney Eve coat for her to wear with it. But even I know that NONE of Whitney's clothes are going to end up on stage with Lights. No way no how.

LIGHTS CONCERT

Roxy brought some more Whitney Eve clothes to the concert. She tells Lights how important it is to wear at least the jacket. Lights says that she needs to feel comfortable, but appears to cooperate. It doesn't look like she'll go through with it, though. Kelly and Whit are waiting for the show to start and Whit is super excited. Zach - the photographer - shows up and Whit reminds him to make sure he gets a photo of Lights with the jacket.

HAHA! She walks out with the jacket on and IMMEDIATELY takes it off (and throws it on the ground) when she gets to the microphone and welcomes the crowd. Ouch. Whitney is PISSED and Roxy keeps looking up at her knowing that she's going to get yelled at later.

DKMS GALA

Olivia shows up in the Prabal dress with Joe Zee. Robbie walks up and Joe gives Olivia credit for pulling the Prabal look and Olivia looks smug, per usual.

LIGHTS CONCERT

Whitney takes off and Roxy goes to Zach to make sure he got a shot of Lights with the Jacket on. Whit finds Roxy and immediately lays in on her. Roxy interrupts and, correctly, tells Whitney that Lights just didn't like her stuff. It wasn't grungy enough. It's true. Whitney is still pissed and yells some more and then tells Roxy that she'll have to answer to Kelly, too.

MARTHA STEWART SHOW

Robbie, Seth and Erin are at the show and Erin is scrambling to get all the looks and models ready to go. Robbie tells Martha Stewart that she's really pretty. Weird. The show goes off without a hitch and everyone is happy. :)

WHITNEY'S APARTMENT

Roxy gets tea for Whitney and wants to talk about last night. Usually, I would be Team Whitney, but in this case, Roxy is right. Whitney comes out again with the fact that nothing this girl was wearing was Whitney Eve. But, Roxy correctly points out that she can't FORCE someone to wear something they don't want to wear. Whitney says that if Roxy can't perform then maybe she shouldn't be doing this line of work. Ouch. That was unnecessary. This is exactly why you can't have your friends doing "work" for you. It never turns out right. The same with selling a car - don't sell it to a friend. It never works out.

Roxy points out that it was her job to make sure Lights was wearing something Whitney Eve when she walked out. It's not her job to make sure she keeps it on throughout the show. She also assures Whitney that Zach got some pics of her wearing it when she walked out. She also tells Whitney that it's offensive to tell her that she shouldn't be doing this type of work just because this pop star doesn't like her clothes.

Whitney just doesn't get it. I understand that this is her baby and it's personal for her, but Roxy has been super supportive. Whitney says that she questions whether they should be working together and that's about the only thing I agree with. They should NOT be working together. Roxy feels defensive because Whitney is saying that she's CONSTANTLY disappointed by Roxy - which is a total exaggeration. Roxy just wants a little support from her best friend and I understand that. They agree that Roxy needs to move out. Yikes.

ELLE MAGAZINE

Joe walks down the hall with Olivia just fawning over her for her great job with the Prabal outfit for Martha Stewart. They reach Olivia's desk and he congratulates Erin for the Martha Stewart segment. He tells her that it was a real homerun and she did a great job and that Olivia really hit it out of the park, too. OY! Enough with the baseball analogies, Joe Zee. Geesh!

See you next time.

OMG OMG OMG OMG - KEN OLIN will be appearing on the next episode!!! WOO HOO!

The City, Season 3, Episode 9

"One girl's trash ... "

KELLY & WHITNEY

They go to meet some woman who tries to tell them about this huge designer trade show where 1000 designers come to show and sell their stuff to buyers from all over. She starts off ok, but then Kelly takes over and just gets to the point: Whitney has to be strong and say "no" if she can't fill the order in time and she needs to write everything down and take 50% up front. Done and done.

OLIVIA

Olivia and Kyle - Senior Accessories Editor for Elle - walk down the street discussing the upcoming Ke$ha photo shoot. Olivia asks what they are looking for and Kyle explains that Ke$ha is into leather and stuff, but she's also into "garbage." So the first place they go is called "Trash and Vaudeville." They tell the manager what they are looking for and head to the back to look at shoes. The manager looks like he's on many things. They find some boots with spikes all over and Kyle LOVES them. Olivia does NOT agree. She tries them on because she's the same size as Ke$ha and says "I'm not walking around in these." The other girls who work there laugh and say "she doesn't want to walk in the shoes. Who doesn't walk in shoes??" HA.

TRADESHOW

Olivia and Whitney show up and set up all her designs. Some buyers from "WINK" come by to look at her designs. They like some of the stuff, but don't want to commit. Wah wah.

ELLE

Back at Elle, Olivia is putting together some of the accessories for the Ke$ha shoot. Kate, the Executive Accessories Editor, comes to look at the stuff. She doesn't like the shoes and Olivia tells her that she has a call into Nicholas Kirkwood who is sending over the perfect shoe. Olivia received a picture of it and she says it's perfect. Kate is still worried, but lets Olivia get back to work. Seth (Robbie's Asst) walks over to Olivia and asks if Erin has seen everything. Olivia says she doesn't give a sh*t what Erin thinks even those she's the senior publicist (as Seth points out).

TRADE SHOW

Kelly comes to see how things are going. A buyer comes up and Kelly goes into "selling" mode. He orders a ton of stuff and they are all excited. Roxy and Whitney are super giddy and Kelly tells them that they have work to do. Buzz kill.

OLIVIA

Olivia and Louise have lunch to get to know one another. Louise reminds me so much of Elle McPherson. She and Olivia actually look a lot alike, too. It might be the hair. Anyhow, they sit and chat and Louise asks about the Ke$sha shoot. She tells Olivia about these "garbage bag" shoes by Nicholas Kirkwood. Olivia says that she has a call into Kirkwood and should be receiving stuff shortly. She also says that she already pulled those "garbage bag" shoes. Hmmm.

PEOPLE'S REVOLUTION

Kelly tells the girls that the big spender at the trade show canceled his ENTIRE ORDER. UGH! Whitney is pissed and kind of takes it out on Roxy. Whitney goes to take care of some other stuff and Kelly reminds Roxy that this is Whitney's baby. Kelly knows it wasn't Roxy's fault - or Whitney's for that matter - but Whitney is just freaking out.

KE$HA PHOTO SHOOT

Joe Zee brings Ke$ha in to look at all the accessories. The garbage bag shoes are a HUGE HIT. Ke$ha LOVES them and the shoot is a success. Erin is not happy.

ROXY

Roxy goes to see the owner and buyers from WINK. She tells them that they have a lot of the Whitney Eve designs that they were interest in available now. The buyers put in a big order.

ELLE

Seth plants the seed that the garbage bag shoes might not have been Olivia's idea. Olivia walks up as Seth takes off and Erin mentions to Olivia that Louise has contacts at Nicholas Kirkwood. Olivia sees where this is going and tells Erin that it was her idea and that whatever Erin thought she was doing by hiring Louise, it didn't work. Nothing that Erin is doing to get rid of Olivia is working. Olivia smirks and walks off.

WHITNEY & ROXY

Roxy takes Whitney to a WINK store to surprise her. Whitney's stuff is in the window and all over the store. Whitney is totally shocked and touched that Roxy did all of this without her knowledge. Ahhhh.

See you next week!

The City, Season 3, Episode 8

"Work Horses and Show Ponies"

MIAMI

Roxy (representing People's Revolution) is with Whitney in Miami for a Gen Art Event. She goes over the itinerary with Roxy and Roxy bitches that Whitney is going to start getting really anal. Um, hi? It's her SHOW!!! Of course she's going to be anal. Whitney ignores Roxy and says that the first thing they need to do is casting. Roxy is so not interested.

ELLE MAGAZINE

Erin and Olivia come into Joe's office and he wants to know what they are working on. Olivia is excited about the Zac Posen event that he's doing with Target in NYC. She wants to do something with elle.com. Joe asks if she can get an interview with Zac Posen and she says that she will use her personal relationship with him to get the interview. Joe totally calls her out for not getting the interview with Marc Jacobs, even though they're "friends." Joe basically tells her that she needs to deliver if she wants to keep her job. HA!!

MIAMI - Gen Art Casting

The event coordinators tell all the designers that they will be selecting their models and they will also need to select a model - for the Unite Party - who will be wearing one of their looks. If they pick the same model, they'll have to fight it out amongst themselves.

The casting begins and Whitney selects "Erika" as one of her show models and as her model for the party. Then she sees "Erika" trying on another designer's clothes. The other designer comes over to Whitney and Whitney just tells her that they can't share her and that she also is booking her for the party. The other designer, Romina, is not happy. Good times.

ZAC POSEN TARGET COLLECTION PARTY

Joe finds Olivia and sends the senior producer with her to get the interview. Olivia takes off and stops to talk to everyone she knows. She finally makes it upstairs but Joe isn't confident that she'll do the job. Olivia finally catches up with "her dear friend, Zac Posen" and tells him Joe Zee wants her to ask him a few questions. He obliges and she does the interview. Joe tells Olivia that this is why he hired her and that he wants her to perform like this EVERY SINGLE TIME.

I get that she's connected and a "socialite" but it's gotta suck to know that someone has hired you because you know people and to use you for your connections and not because of your abilities.

KOKO & PALENKI - MIAMI

Whitney and Roxy check out Koko & Palenki which is the store that is sponsoring the party that night. They both say how cool it would be if Whitney could get some of her designs in that store. They meet the owner and tell her to look out for Whitney's stuff at the Gen Art Show.

ELLE

Robbie (Editor in Chief of Elle), Keith Pollock (Editorial Director) and Erin are watching Olivia's interview with Zac Posen. OMG. It is a really obnoxious video. At the end, Keith says that "she's pretty." Robbie says that there are two types of people in this business: Work horses and show ponies. HAHA. Erin stops them before they lavish too much praise on Olivia and shows them the interview that Louise did of Badgley Mischka at the Marc Jacobs show and they are completely in love with her. They think Louise is fantastic. They end up deciding to keep both Olivia and Louise. Robbie says that she trusts Joe's judgment regarding Olivia, but she likes Louise, too. UGH.

MIAMI - Unite Unveiled Party

Roxy and Whitney see Romina talking to the ladies from the store that Whitney liked. Roxy pushes her to go over to them and promote her line. I guess I see Roxy's point, but I felt like the ladies were a little annoyed.

GEN ART SHOW

So the event coordinators are crazy bitches. Every time Roxy tries to talk to one of them, she just tells her that she's busy and can't be bothered. When Whitney and Roxy both go talk to the event coordinators to find out what's going on, the one keeps smiling and blowing them off. It's super chaotic backstage, but the show goes really well and the store owners love the show.

ELLE

Louise comes to the office to see Erin. Erin is praising Louise and Olivia interrupts and introduces herself to Louise. Then she takes her to the accessories closet and welcomes her to Elle. ANNOYING.

GEN ART FASHION SHOW

The store ladies are talking to Romina and Whitney and Roxy decide to break it up and bring them to look at Whitney's designs. The ladies love her stuff and say that they will be in touch. Whitney and Roxy are super stoked to be able to tell Kelly what a success the trip was.

See you next week!

The City, Season 3, Episode 6

"Fashion with a Capital F"

ELLE MAGAZINE

Erin tries to talk to Olivia about the "GUESS" event and she tells Olivia what she needs to get together for the event. Olivia stops listening mid sentence and tells Erin that she'll talk to Joe about it. Erin keeps talking to her and telling her what they normally do for these events. Then she asks Olivia if she wants to go with her to pick out some Guess clothes for the event. Olivia says that she'll check her schedule and let Erin know. Wow. Diva.

Then Erin tells Olivia that they had some issues with the Ruelala shoot and she thinks it would be great to invite Whitney to mend fences with her. Olivia says that it's an Elle event and Erin is more than welcome to invite her.

PEOPLE'S REVOLUTION

Kelly comes in and tells Whitney she needs to focus on her line, Whitney Eve, by herself. Roxy needs to NOT focus on Whitney Eve. Instead, Kelly wants Roxy to work with some other People's Revolution designers and get them ready for the Press Appointments. She also tells them that Elle magazine is having a party and they both need to go to represent Whitney Eve and People's Revolution.

GUESS SHOWROOM

Erin arrives for the press preview and Olivia apparently found time in her busy schedule to come, too. Alina Hauptman, Senior Public Relations Manager for Guess, comes out to greet them both. They go to the showroom and pick out clothes that they like and Erin asks if Olivia wore Guess when she was younger. Apparently Olivia had a very eclectic style when she was an adolescent that did not include Guess. Then Olivia asks if Guess was popular with the kids in California and Erin - acutely aware of Alina's presence - says that Guess is popular all over the world. They take their clothes and head back to Elle.

GUESS EVENT

Whitney and Roxy arrive and immediately talk to Erin and Joe. Joe tells Whitney that he wants a preview of her collection and will help her in any way that he can. Then he sees Olivia. He tells Erin that Olivia had the nerve to show up at a Guess event hosted by ELLE without a stitch of Guess clothing on...even though they went to the showroom the day before to get clothes!! Alina - the head of PR for Guess - finds Olivia and asks if any of the clothes she took worked. Olivia says that some of the sizes didn't work and Alina tells her that next time she should call her and she would be happy to send additional sizes. DUH! Olivia is such a bitch. Joe is NOT happy.

WHITNEY

Roxy and Whitney are grabbing coffee and rehashing the night's events. They both feel sorry for Erin because she has to put up with Olivia everyday. AND, they both noticed that Olivia wasn't even wearing Guess at the party.

PEOPLE'S REVOLUTION

It's time for the Press Appointments, so Roxy is up! All of a sudden, two of the girls from Glamour that Roxy and Whitney met with show up to see one of the designers. Kelly asks how they know Roxy and one of them says that Roxy showed them the "hooker ballerina" look. Roxy defends the look...again...and then Kelly interrupts and focuses attention back on the designer who is standing there wondering WTF is going on. They finish showing his designs. Kelly tells Roxy NEVER to discuss another designer in front of a designer she's showing. Then she tells her that she's doing the Felder & Felder appointment with Paper magazine all by herself and she better not "fuck up." HAHA.

ELLE MAGAZINE

Olivia and Erin meet with Joe in his office. Joe begins by telling Olivia that Alina called him and Olivia starts explaining about getting the options last minute. Joe interrupts her and says that his name was on the invite and Elle was hosting the event and he expected Erin and Olivia to show up in Guess clothing out of respect for him and Elle and the designer. Olivia responds by laughing and saying "Oh, Joe." What a bitch! She is so disrespectful. He's not your pal...he's your BOSS. Joe tells her it isn't funny and that it's very serious. She says that she always supports the designers and smirks and wishes them both a good afternoon. FIRE HER. She wouldn't last a day as my employee.

PEOPLE'S REVOLUTION

Roxy is talking to Daniela Felder and finding out more about the Felder & Felder designs. Daniela walks away for a minute to get a belt for one of her outfits to show the guy from Paper magazine and Roxy takes the opportunity to tell him about Whitney Eve and that she'll get him a look book later. Not a good idea. I bet Kelly is going to burn her for that.

ELLE MAGAZINE

Whitney comes to show Joe her collection. Erin takes her to the back to show Joe and Anne Slowey - Elle's Fashion News Director - her collection. They ask her who her audience is - meaning who is she designing for. Whitney says she's designing for herself and her friends. Anne tells her that in order to be successful, she needs to take herself out of the equation and even her friends, too. Anne is kind of a bitch. She says that she sees fashion but not with a capital "F." She tells Whitney that she could eventually be a designer, but right now her collection lacks focus. Ouch. Joe says that he loves her passion, but that she doesn't have a "collection," she has a bunch of cute pieces. So she needs to work on focusing the line and putting together a collection that goes together. Well, it's constructive criticism.

ELLE MAGAZINE

Seth (Robbie's asst.) and Erin are chatting. Erin needs to meet with Robbie and Olivia walks by and walks right into the office of the new fashion director, her "friend." Seth wants to know what happened at the Guess event. Erin says that Olivia just doesn't get it. Seth asks if she got any interviews at the Guess event for elle.com. Erin says not even one and that Olivia just needs to be replaced. Agreed. Seth says that the problem is that Olivia has very powerful friends at the magazine. Also agreed. Frustrating.

WHITNEY

Kelly and Whitney have lunch to discuss the Whitney's meeting with Joe. Whitney tells Kelly about the meeting. She says that she's not sure how much more criticism she can take. Kelly tells her that EVERYONE will have an opinion about her work. She says that Whitney has 2 hours to feel bad about the criticism but then she has to jump for joy that she got a meeting with the creative director of Elle Magazine and move on. Kelly tells her that the people to kick you the hardest and give you the most constructive criticism are the first ones backstage to congratulate you when you make it. Kelly rocks. I wish she was my mentor. I love her.

ERIN

Erin meets Louise Roe, a fashion journalist, for lunch. Erin tells Louise that she wanted to meet her to see what she was all about and to find out what she wanted to do next. She tells Louise that she's looking for someone to do interviews for Elle.com because they person they currently have is not really working out. Zing!

See you next week!

The City, Season 3, Episode 5

"The Belle of Elle"

Kelly comes in and tells Whitney that Glamour selected her for a full page write up on her new line. They love Whitney's skirts so they'll shoot a "look" and then Whitney will get to pick up all the other accessories for the look that under $100. Kelly says that she wants Whitney to go with April because she thinks it will be cool for her to show up with "representation." Whitney asks if she can bring Roxy instead. Kelly: "God. Are we going to do this again?" HAHA. I love that Kelly hates Roxy and has no problem just telling Whitney - and Roxy - to her face. Whitney defends Roxy and says that Roxy has helped her so much throughout this process. Kelly wants to know how exactly Roxy has "helped" Whitney. Kelly: "I gave her a paycheck and you got her a job. How has she helped you?" I love Kelly. Kelly explains that Roxy is NOT Glamour and that if she keeps bringing Roxy everywhere, people will start associating her with Whitney's line. Kelly tells Whitney to do whatever she wants. As she's leaving she says "Oh, and on the Roxy thing, I've never been wrong." HA!

ELLE MAGAZINE

Joe Zee is rushing out the door, but stops by Olivia's cubicle to ask her if she's free tomorrow night. Eric Damon, the costume designer for Gossip Girl (!!!) is having a big party because he has a book coming out. So Joe asks Olivia to come with him. As an afterthought, he extends the invite to Erin, but she tells him she's meeting with Page Six tomorrow night.

GLAMOUR MAGAZINE

Whitney shows up to meet with Madeline Escudero (Market Editor), Sasha Iglehart (Deputy Fashion Director) and Maria Duenas (Accessories Editor). Sasha shows her what her page will look like. Maria asks Whitney if the designs are all hers or if she collaborates with someone else. Whitney says that they are all her own designs and then brings up Roxy. WHY??? They, of course, assume she's her partner. Whitney says that she's not her partner, but she's supported her throughout the process. Why wouldn't Whitney says she's with her PR Firm??? Dumb. Anyhow, they tell her that she's welcome to bring Roxy to the layout. UGH.

ERIC DAMON PARTY

Joe, Olivia and Seth (Robbie's asst) are enjoying the party. All the Gossip Girl stars are there. I would LOVE to be there. So awesome. Joe comments that Erin is missing a fun night. Cut to ...

ERIN

Erin is having drinks with Neel Shah, a writer for Page Six. He asks about the addition of Alexis to Elle and Erin calls her "Elle's new Belle." Then Neel asks about the Elle gossip so Erin tells him about Olivia and the Whitney debacle. Neel thinks that would be a great story. HAHA. Erin just doesn't care anymore.

ELLE MAGAZINE

Seth comes up to Olivia and Erin and chats about the event. Olivia excuses herself and Seth is amazed that Olivia knows so many famous people. Erin says that she probably goes to a lot of parties. Seth doesn't understand how Olivia could party with the rich and famous and then come to Elle and do a job. Erin says that she doesn't care what Olivia does on her own time as long as she gets her job done. Seth asks if she's getting her job done, though. Erin doesn't really answer. HA.

Olivia walks into Joe's office and give him the accessories pages for the next issue. He's overly impressed. Joe tells Olivia that he's hosting a party at Bergdorf Goodman with Linda Fargo (Bergdorf) for Elie Tahari. Olivia says she'd love to attend and Joe reminds her to wear Elie Tahari to the party.

WHITNEY

Roxy and Whitney grab some lunch and Whitney tells Roxy that Samantha invited her to the Elie Tahari party. She tells Roxy that Kelly was not supportive of her decision to bring Roxy to Glamour. But Whitney is going to bring Roxy anyway. Bad move.

ELIE TAHARI PARTY

Whitney wants to talk to Linda Fargo and Genni Hershey-Lambert from Bergdorf who she met in the beginning of the season when she showed them her pieces. That meeting didn't go so well, so Whitney would like to talk to them to make a new impression. Alexis is talking to Neel Shah from Page Six, Joe and Olivia are talking to Elie and Linda. Ginny comes up to Whitney and they talk about her line. It's all going well. Neel comes up to Joe and Olivia and asks Olivia how things are going with Erin. Olivia avoids the question and Joe saves her with talk of Alexis. Neel has gotten all he needs and will write his story ... but what will it be about??

GLAMOUR

Whitney is putting together a look for Glamour with Maria and Madeline. She's having trouble with the accessories and wonders where Roxy is. Roxy finally shows up ... late ... and doesn't have much positive stuff to contribute. She thinks the looks that Whitney is putting together are too "girly" and "boring" - um, has she seen Glamour? It's not exactly The Guardian. She pulls out some random stuff and Sasha comes in to check out the looks. Whitney has a few looks. The first is her look - girly and whimsical. The second look is the one Roxy worked on. Roxy tells Sasha her unsolicited opinion on the look she picked out and calls it "hooker, but in a good way." This scene was so hard to watch. I was embarrassed for Roxy and for Whitney. I just wanted it to stop. I actually paused it a few times because Roxy just blew it.

ELLE MAGAZINE

Joe calls a fashion meeting and Alexis, Erin and Olivia are all there. He talks about the busy week and all the events. THEN, he pulls out a copy of Page Six and says that Elle got a shout out. The article leads with Elle's new belle, Alexis Bryan Morgan!! Joe give props to Erin for getting that mention in Page Six!! WOOT!

PEOPLE'S REVOLUTION

Kelly calls Roxy and Whitney into her office to go over the Glamour shoot. Kelly talked to Sasha and they chose the polka-dot skirt look that Whitney worked on...the "girly" look. Whitney says she loved that look, but her favorite was a ballerina skirt look. Kelly interrupts and asks if it was, by chance, called the "hooker ballerina look" because she heard that Whitney took an assistant which she is assuming was Roxy. HAHA. Kelly tells Roxy that if she was there as an assistant it's just not appropriate for her to say things like that. Particularly at such a girly magazine!!

Kelly: "This town is made up of freaks and followers. And I'm totally a freak. So, you wanna be a freak? That's great, but you pay the price. Good luck."

She dismisses Roxy and finishes up with Whitney. Kelly tells Whitney that she's never wrong about Roxy. And they've established today that Roxy is a freak so Whitney can't take her to non-freaky places. Done and done.

Whitney walks out to talk to Roxy and says that she thought Roxy overstepped a little. Roxy replies that she doesn't feel like she has to apologize and pretend that's not who she is. Whitney is a little stunned. Yikes.

The City, Season 3, Episode 4

"Queen of Diamonds"

ELLE MAGAZINE

Erin, Olivia and a bunch of editors are all talking to Joe Zee about the "Fergie" Cover. Olivia pulls out some great accessories, the team has great looks and everything is good to go! Joe asks Olivia to hang back for a second. He tells her that her work was good this morning, but she needs to be consistent. He tells her he can't bring her to LA and she understands why. HA!

PEOPLE'S REVOLUTION

Roxy and Whitney are looking through magazine for inspiration for Whitney's look book. Whitney says that the French photographer from the Ruelala shoot sent her the pics and then asked her to get a drink or dinner. Kelly walks up and Whit fills her in. Kelly says that everyone should have an affair with a French guy, especially if you're in fashion. "It's a great way to learn the language and a great way to get banged." :)

ELLE

Robbie's assistant comes to Olivia to pick up some accessories for a black tie affair that Robbie is attending. He asks Olivia why she isn't in LA and Olivia lies and says that she had no intention of going to LA because she has "too much work" to do at the office. Yeah right! No, I don't want to meet Fergie. I'd rather stay in my office and work. Stupid.

LA

The Elle team arrives at the L'Ermitage Hotel in LA. Erin meets Joe for coffee in the morning and the conversation turns to Olivia. Joe says she's good at pulling accessories together for a look. Erin says that might be true, but that's not enough. It's a whole job, not just getting a ring for one look. Erin says they now have to worry that she won't even show up. Joe promises that will NEVER happen again. Joe tries to defend Olivia and Erin just says "the bad far outweighs the good." I could not agree more.

WHITNEY'S APARTMENT

Whitney comes out of her room in a white sparkly dress and black leggings. WHAT? Jonathon, her date, shows up on his motorcycle and even brought an extra helmet for Whitney. She's a little freaked out because she's never been on one, but decides to go for it. They sit down and grab drinks and they start talking war photography. Jonathon is a very serious guy. Whitney mentions that she needs a photographer to shoot her look book and Jonathon says he'll do it.

FERGIE ELLE SHOOT

Joe and Erin show Fergie all the looks and she loves them. She tells Joe her favorite piece is a huge dragon ring (that I'm sure Olivia picked out). Erin rolls her eyes. They are watching the shoot and Joe tells Erin that diamonds make the outfit. (Olivia came up with the diamond idea). Erin says that the hot pants make the outfit. Joe says that Olivia can pick out a great piece of jewelry. That's her strength. I'm with Erin...that is NOT enough. Joe and Erin go look at some cover shots. Joe likes the cover with the diamond bracelet, while Erin obviously prefers the other cover. Joe is the boss so he wins!

Erin gets a call from Seth, Robbie's assistant, and he tells her that Olivia has been in the office all day and now she's out to lunch with the new Fashion Director to KISS SOME ASS! Erin is not pleased.

NEW YORK

Olivia and Alexis Bryan Morgan, the new Fashion Director, sit and have lunch. They make small talk and then Alexis asks if Olivia pulled any of the pieces for the Fergie shoot. Olivia tells her that she picked a lot of the Cartier and Bvlgari pieces, but she really wants Fergie to wear the blue dragon ring that she found for her. [Insert eye roll here]. Alexis tells her that she has a good eye and Olivia says that she was fortunate to be educated at a young age about jewelry and vintage pieces. UGH.

OH NOW I SEE. Olivia and Alexis have known each other for years. Great. Alexis asks Olivia how it is to work with Erin. Olivia says it's fine. Alexis tells Olivia that she has to pay her dues if she wants to make it in the fashion industry. She tells Olivia not to be discouraged and Olivia says she's glad that "her friend" is working there now! Alexis tells Olivia to come to her if there's anything she can do. Damn.

PEOPLE'S REVOLUTION

Whitney tells Kelly that Jonathon offered to shoot her look book for FREE. Hmm. That must have been later because he didn't do that in any of the scenes I saw. Kelly says that people don't usually do things for free without expecting something in return. Whitney is not really into him and is hoping that he doesn't want anything from her.

LOS ANGELES

The shoot is over and Erin and Joe are in a car on their way to the hotel. Joe defends his choice for the cover and brings up Olivia AGAIN. Erin stops him and says she can't hear about Olivia anymore today. She says it makes her skin crawl and she's "so OVER Olivia Palermo." Agreed. Joe says that he doesn't need Erin to put her on a pedestal, he just needs her to acknowledge that she did a good job. Erin says "Olivia did a good job today." Done.

PEOPLE'S REVOLUTION

Jonathon arrives to do the look book shoot. Whitney has everything set up and they start shooting. Jonathon is very complimentary to Whitney and Roxy confirms that he's hot for her. He tries to come up and talk to her and ask her out again and Whitney tells him she has no time for a social life right now and would like to keep things professional.

ELLE

It's team meeting time and Joe pulls everyone in to look at the Fergie cover. Olivia whispers to Robbie's assistant that she hopes the Armani outfit made it on the cover (because she pulled the jewelry for it). Joe comes in and tells them that they found the cover. He reminds them that they usually pull several covers together and pass them through focus groups to find the right one. He unveils the cover and it's ... THE ONE ERIN LIKED!!! Joe says that he preferred the Armani outfit with the diamonds, but ultimately, this green dress won out with the focus group. Seth whispers that there isn't even any jewelry in the picture. HAHA! Joe gives Erin props for knowing what the readers would prefer and tells her she did a great job. YAY!! ERIN FTW!!!

Awesome. See you next week.

The City, Season 3, Episode 3

"Professionally Dangerous"

BERGDORF GOODMAN

Samantha, Roxy and Whitney are having lunch at BG because they are fancy. Roxy talks about her new suitor, Zach the Photographer. She suggests Samantha that she may want to "get naked for him" since that's his "thing." I think Roxy likes him, but she's still not quite sure about it. So she's doing that thing where she talks about him and is secretly excited about him, but acts annoyed that he texts her and wants to hang out. Whitney is still under the impression that Olivia is her friend and hooked her up with the Ruelala gig with Elle.com. WRONG!! She doesn't know it yet, so this lunch is all about praise for Olivia for being "so nice." HA! Whitney tells Samantha about the gig and how Olivia is "interviewin-GAH" her for Elle.com.

ELLE MAGAZINE

Olivia goes in to see Kate, the Executive Accessories Editor, and names drops that her coat is by Mr. Armani. Obnoxious. She tells Kate about her friends, Stephanie and Jenny, who started their own company that specializes in precious stones. Olivia thinks that they will be perfect for Elle.com and Kate tells her to run with it. So, Olivia conveniently schedules that interview at the same time as Whitney's Ruelala shoot.

MILK STUDIOS

Whitney arrives at the Ruelala shoot and Erin is there with the models and photographer. Erin introduces Whitney to Jonathon, the photographer and Stacy, the rep from Ruelala. Erin says that they are taking pictures and, as soon as Olivia arrives, they'll do the interview. Kelly (!!) shows up to see what they are doing and to be Whitney's fairy godmother. Erin explains everything and Kelly wonders where Olivia is.

Where is Olivia? At Jemma Wynne, the precious stone company, interviewing her friend for Elle.com. Not good.

Kelly tells Erin to find Olivia because she needs to leave. Erin calls Olivia and discovers that Olivia is NOT COMING. So Erin has the difficult - and embarrassing - task of telling Kelly and Whitney that Olivia is not coming. Whitney is totally confused so Erin tells them that Olivia does not want to support the line. Kelly is LIVID. Kelly: "Who gives a F*** about her f***ing opinion?!?" "She is DEAD. She is f***ing DEAD. I'm going to come up like a shark underneath a glass bottom boat and rip the sh*t out of her." Erin's expression during this tirade is priceless. I love Kelly.

ELLE MAGAZINE

Erin asks Olivia why she wasn't at the Ruelala shoot. Olivia says that she told everyone well in advance that she wouldn't be there because she was interviewing another designer. Um, you just got permission to interview them that morning! She immediately says that it was a miscommunication. Erin says that if Olivia doesn't show up to do her job, no one else is there to cover. And, Erin says that it affected her because she had to tell Whitney why Olivia wasn't there. Olivia says that it's none of Erin's business and Erin says that she made it her business when she failed to show up. Olivia turns around and Erin asks her to look at her when they're having a conversation. Olivia turns back to face Erin and tells her that she needs to change her tone of voice. Olivia says she's done with the conversation and Erin says "that's very mature of you....You probably burned a lot of bridges that day." Olivia gets up and walks away.

WHITNEY'S APARTMENT

Roxy is dressed up and going out to meet Zach the Photographer for a "business meeting." Zach arrives and they all engage in small talk.

PHILLIP MARIE

Zach and Roxy have some wine and pretend like they are interested in talking about work. Roxy starts looking at pictures of her moody, "Woody Allen"- like dog and shares them with Zach. I can't believe he's really interested in her pictures. I guess a guy will feign interest in anything to get laid.

ELLE MAGAZINE

Joe calls Olivia into this office so he can bitch slap her for f***ing up the Ruelala interview. Joe is PISSED OFF. He asks Olivia what her deal was for just not showing up to Whitney's shoot. Olivia says that she was interviewing a different designer. Joe: "You do NOT get to make that decision about not showing up on an assignment. Like I don't want an entire showroom of people waiting around for YOU. That's a reflection on me. I don't understand what's running through your mind when you say you just didn't want to show up to something." Olivia tries to defend her decision saying that one editor might not like a line and another editor might love it. Joe interrupts her and says "But Olivia, I stick up for you all the time. And, honestly, in situations like this, I'm sick of it. So, I'm sorry. If you want to work here, I need you to try to make amends. Ask her out to lunch and get this done. Unless you don't think you should be working here anymore." ZING! OMG. I love Joe Zee in this episode. That was AWESOME.

ELLE MAGAZINE

Erin walks into the editing room to look at the footage from Olivia's interview with the precious stone designers. Erin totally picks it apart and ultimately decides that they can't use any of it and tells the senior producer from Elle.com to just scrap the whole thing. Nice.

PEOPLE'S REVOLUTION

Whitney and Roxy are admiring Whitney's new "office" at People's Revolution. It's basically an old closet, but Whitney is just happy not to be working out of her living room. Whitney asks about Roxy's "date" with Zach the Photographer. Roxy says he makes her nervous because he's so nice and she's not used to dating "nice" guys. Then Roxy says she still can't believe that Olivia blew off the photo shoot. Whitney says that the best thing to do is just realize that this is how Olivia is and brush it off. Roxy disagrees. Enter Kelly Cutrone (!!). Kelly asks if Olivia has called to apologize yet and Whitney tells her that they are supposed to meet for lunch today. Whitney says that she's unsure how to handle it. And this is why I love Kelly.

Kelly: "I'm going to set this really straight. You're going to go there. You need to f***ing take this bitch out. She's under your skin. So now you have to say 'I'm not this nice girl from California. And now you're gonna meet the real me.' Because you need to let people who are toxic and dangerous to you know that you will f***ing fight back. 'Cuz you know where nice people end up? On welfare...So you need to go to her and say 'Listen, I will destroy you.'" Then she points at Roxy and says that she will help Whitney because "she's more wicked than you." LOVE KELLY.

Whitney asks if that's the professional way of going about it. Kelly says that Olivia is "professionally dangerous" to Whitney and that she's "like a little petty tyrant. Scare the sh*t out of her. And don't ever do it in writing or in email. Good luck." I want Kelly to be my mentor. Too bad I'm not a fashion junkie.

FIG & OLIVE

Olivia and Whitney meet for lunch. They make small talk and Olivia says she's looking for young designers. Whitney says "Like me. Just .... not me." Olivia says "Exactly. Like you." Then Olivia brings up the photo shoot and says it was all a miscommunication because she had sent out an email well in advance that she would not be able to make it. Then Olivia tries to quickly change the subject and asks Whitney to tell her about her line.

Whitney is not letting go that easily. She tells Olivia that she heard that Olivia was refusing to support her line. Olivia keeps looking at - what I assume is - the camera and says that she doesn't want to talk about it. It's clear Olivia feels uncomfortable that this is being recorded. She expected "docile" Whitney, not "prepped by Kelly and Roxy" Whitney. Whitney says that Olivia doesn't have to be immature about it and that hit a nerve. Olivia denies that she's being immature. Whitney asks why Olivia wouldn't call her personally to tell her she wasn't going to make it. Olivia says she's not going to engage in this conversation (still looking at the cameras uncomfortably). Whitney tells her not to act so childish. Again, this hits a nerve.

Olivia again says "miscommunication" and Whitney says that all of Olivia's excuses don't mean anything to her. Olivia looks really uncomfortable. She quickly says "we'll talk about this later." Whitney keeps calling her out and telling her that she handled everything very immaturely and that she's making all these excuses because she looks like a complete bitch. Olivia gets up, grabs her bag and takes off. Whitney calls her a coward as she walks away. Olivia got beat up this episode. It was awesome. I love it!

See you next week.

The City, Season 3, Episode 2

"Friends in High Places"

PEOPLE'S REVOLUTION

Kelly walks in bearing good news: Whitney's line got glowing reviews. There was some criticism, but Kelly tells Whitney to listen to the constructive stuff. Kelly loves Whitney. She tells her to send it to her parents because they will be so proud. She instructs Roxy to start making appointments with editors so that Whitney can "pimp her line."

ELLE

Joe is talking to some Elle peeps about the Taylor Swift cover. He's pulling looks for the photo shoot and Erin comes in to look at everything. She walks up to Olivia and tells her she did a great job on her first interview and asks if she wants to do more of that. Olivia says that she's been speaking with Joe and they are coming up with a list of young designers for her to interview. Erin tells her to keep her posted and then walks off. I know it took everything in Erin to be complimentary to Olivia. Good for her.

PEOPLE'S REVOLUTION

A hipster-looking photographer walks in the door (Zach) to see Kelly. Roxy looks interested and shoots Whitney a "who is THAT hottie??" look. He and Kelly sit and talk about his photos. There is some chatter about naked subway photos which peaks Roxy's interest. Kelly notices that she's looking over and totally calls her out. Roxy says that the naked subway talk sounded interesting. So Kelly tells her to come into her office. She assigns Roxy to work with Zach on a photo shoot and Roxy gives him her information. Roxy introduces Zach to Whitney and tells him that Whitney would LOVE to get naked for one of his photo shoots. Kelly hears this and YELLS that Whitney does NOT want to pose naked and that she better NEVER see any People's Revolution girls in any of his photo shoots or she will "fucking have [his] head".

POINT A SHOWROOM

Whitney is setting up a showroom with all of her stuff for her editors' meeting. Kelly explains to Whitney that this is like a clothes-waitress gig. They have all these clothes on the "menu" and it's Whitney's job to "sell" looks and get them to use her clothes in their publications. Kelly goes through the list of editors who are coming and Elle is visibly absent from that list. Cut to...

ELLE MAGAZINE

Roxy calls Olivia and follows up on an email she sent to Olivia about Whitney's editor meeting. Olivia tells her that she's in "Accessories" so it's really not her department. Olivia says that she thought Olivia would go since she knows Whitney personally. Olivia asks why she's getting a call about this at 4pm when the meeting is at 4:30pm. Roxy reminds her that she sent an email and never got a call back. Olivia tells her that she'll go as a "favor" to Whitney, but adds that it is very unprofessional to call less than an hour before a meeting to ask an editor to attend. (Insert eye roll here). Oh, nevermind, Roxy rolls her eyes for me. :)

Erin asks Olivia what that was all about and Olivia bitches to her about the call. Erin rolls her eyes, too, and is probably thinking "I hate Olivia," just like the rest of us.

PEOPLE'S REVOLUTION

Zach shows up and Roxy shows him all the cool clothes to choose from for his shoot. They are totally going to hook up. Cute.

WHITNEY'S EDITOR MEETING

The editors show up and take pictures and reserve outfits. It's winding down and Olivia shows up and there are kisses/hugs all around. They thank Olivia for coming by and Olivia immediately bitches that someone JUST called her an hour ago. Kelly asks if it's the first time someone made contact with her and Olivia LIES and says yes. Whitney says that she's sure someone at Elle was contacted before today. Olivia is totally unprepared. No camera, nothing.

Whitney asks her what she's doing at Elle these days. Olivia tells them about the video blog and interviewing young designers. Kelly tells her that she should interview Whitney and Olivia just ignores her. Then she thanks them and they thank her and she leaves. Kelly: "Well, at least she came." I guess. I'd call Erin if I were them. She's way better.

PHOTO SHOOT

Roxy and Zach pull people off the street, dress them up and take their pictures. FUN! It looks like they did a great job. At the end, they chat and Zach asks her what the deal is with her "situation." Roxy says "we'll see." So cryptic. Just say "Are you seeing anyone?" and "No." Jeez. Why is this hard? They hug and say good-bye.

ELLE

Erin asks Olivia how the Whitney meeting went. Olivia says that it was "all over the place." Wow. Jealous much? Erin asks if there's something they can do with Elle.com and Olivia doesn't think so. Erin says that she's sure they can do something, but Olivia says no and that she's going to pass and that's that. Erin is totally confused by Olivia's reaction. Seriously, Olivia is seething with jealousy. Dumb.

PEOPLE'S REVOLUTION

Whitney and Roxy are talking about Whitney's editor meeting. Roxy tells Whitney that Olivia was a complete bitch on the phone. Whitney is just glad she went to the meeting. Roxy tells Whitney that the photo shoot went really well and she thinks the designer will be happy with the shots. She tells Whitney that she THINKS Zach asked her out but she's not sure. Just then, he walks in with the photos. They all gush over how awesome the pics are and how happy the designer will be.

ELLE

Team meeting. Joe welcomes Alexis Bryon Morgan as Elle's new Fashion Director. OMG. This meeting is AWESOME. Joe starts by asking the Senior Accessories Editor what she's working on and she tells him. Then he asks Olivia and she stutters and says that she's "looking" for young designers to interview but hasn't found any. So basically, she's working on NOTHING and has done NOTHING. So Joe asks Erin what she's working on and she tells him about the Whitney Eve meeting Olivia went to and that she thinks the collection will work really well for the feature she and the Senior Accessories Editor are working on for ruelala.com. Joe asks about the collection and Olivia says she didn't see anything interesting. Another Senior Accessories Editor raves about Whitney's line and the "look book." Joe asks to see the "look book" so Erin gives it to him. He loves it and wants to know why Olivia was so underwhelmed. HAHA.

Erin smirks at Olivia. There's nothing she can really say, although she tries. She says that Whitney is a first time designer and that's "tricky." Erin says that everyone loves the designs and Joe says that this is an opportunity for Elle to be the first one to tell her story. He says that he's always stressing how important it is to be first. Wow. Olivia missed a GOLDEN opportunity. If she had just promoted Whitney's designs, she would be getting all the praise and it would really win her points with everyone at Elle. Too bad jealousy got in the way. Wah-wah. The good thing is that Erin got all the glory. YAY!!

PEOPLE'S REVOLUTION

Kelly calls Roxy and Whitney in to tell them that Elle has confirmed that it will feature Whitney as one of the three designers they are promoting on ruelala.com. They are all really excited. Whitney wonders if Olivia had anything to do with this and if so, that is SUPER nice of her. HA. Nope. In fact, she tried to block Whitney from doing it. Roxy tells Whitney that the only issue is that Whitney owes Olivia a favor. Oh no she doesn't. Wait until Whitney finds out that Olivia tried to sabotage Whitney. She doesn't owe her a damn thing.

I can't wait until next week!!

The City, Season 3, Episode 1

"Show 'Em What You Got"

Last season, Kelly Cutrone told Whitney that one of her designers backed out of a fashion show at Bryant Park, so she had room for Whitney to show her line. The fashion show is coming up so Whitney is doing prep with her handy helper, Roxy. Kelly told her to have 24 "looks" and Whit only has 17 so now she has to come up with 7 more in a few days. She and Roxy are at a fabric store looking for fabric for her line. Whit lists all she has to do and Roxy takes the easiest task - the music for the show. Typical.

ELLE

Joe is talking to Olivia about the drama with her and Erin. He's pissed and tells her to work her shit out because that bullshit won't be tolerated. Olivia whines that she will not tolerate the way Erin speaks to her and others. "It's unacceptable." Joe says that he's going to talk to Robbie and see if they can't find something else for Olivia to do at Elle. Regardless, she needs to get along with Erin and work it out.

WHITNEY

Whitney goes to her pattern-maker to check up on her. She dumped a bunch of new looks on her and wants to see her progress. She asks if everything will be done by next Tuesday. I'm not sure what day "today" is, but I'm guessing it's Friday or something. The ladies say that it's difficult, but they will try. Whitney is not comforted by that answer.

ELLE

Robbie Myers - Editor in Chief of Elle Magazine - is in her office "working" when Joe Zee stops by to see her and talk about the Olivia-Erin drama. Joe explains that they have a serious personality clash. OK, this is why I LOVE Robbie Myers. She says "But, I don't understand. Erin is the senior person. Why would they be having conflicts at all?" LOVE IT. She's right. Olivia is there for the show and to get Elle some free publicity. Robbie NEVER would have hired her. Joe misses the point and tells Robbie that Erin gave him an ultimatum and told him "It's either her or me." This does not sit well with Robbie, so she calls Erin into her office. While they wait, Robbie asks Joe if there's something else they can give Olivia to do. Joe says that he was thinking that she could do a video blog for Elle.com. Robbie says that she's up for trying that.

Erin walks in and Joe tells her that he told Robbie about the ultimatum. Way to throw her under the bus, Joe. Erin explains that it was a heated discussion and she got frustrated. Robbie says "So...you're not going anywhere." Erin says that if Olivia is on-board and stops being such an entitled little bitch, then it should be ok. They explain their idea for Olivia to do interviews on Elle.com in a video blog. Erin totally looks annoyed. Robbie says that once Olivia is on screen, people are going to want to interview with her and Erin - as a publicist - will need to book those interviews for Olivia. Erin takes a deep breath and says that if it's good for the magazine, she'll do it. Robbie: "Ok. We're done. Bye." Love it.

PEOPLE'S REVOLUTION

Whitney is sitting with Kelly and the other two designers who will have shows with her. They are basically done and just putting the finishing touches and Whitney is totally scrambling. Kelly asks Whitney how many looks she has and she says she's trying to do 24. Kelly asks if the other designers agree that 24 looks is better than 20 or 22. One of the designers says that the most important thing is that you're not creating looks just to have more looks. The designs need to be authentic and not rushed. Right.

Kelly asks Whitney if she's ok and Whitney says NO. Kelly tells Whitney if the show doesn't go well, Whitney is F*CKED. Kelly is weird. She says shit like that and then she tells Whitney that she needs to go for it. Whitney is just nervous.

ZAMPA, WEST VILLAGE

Olivia comes to meet Erin for coffee. Of course, Olivia is LATE. They decide to bury the hatchet. This is such an awkward conversation. Olivia says that they just need to support each other so they can be the best at what they do. Erin just laughs. I agree. What exactly do you do, Olivia?? HAHA. Then Erin awkwardly says that she thinks they will make a great team. Hello, scripted much?

WHITNEY EVE FASHION SHOW

It's chaos. Everyone is running around trying to get it ready. It's show time. Roxy is sending out the models. It goes well until one of the models is missing. Rather than just sending out the next person in line, Roxy starts yelling the model's name. Kelly tells her to shut up and send the next model. She FINALLY does after there's a pause between models, but it works out. The show is great and Whitney comes out and bows. SO CUTE. OMG. I'm totally tearing up. Whitney's mom was helping before the show and now her dad is backstage. So cute.

Whitney goes out to look for Kelly. Kelly tells Whitney to really take it all in and enjoy the moment and everything that she's created for herself. Whitney says that she would never be here without Kelly. Kelly tells her that she would and that Whitney made this happen. Then, Kelly does the unthinkable. SHE CRIES!! She tells Whitney that she's really proud of her and hugs her. She tells Whitney that she's so lucky to have her whole family there to support her and Whitney tells Kelly that she's her family, too. So sweet.

See you next week!

The City, Season Two, Episode 23

Last time on The City: Olivia was a bitch, Roxy ruined Whit's dress and Kelly was awesome.

People's Revolution. Kelly calls Whit into her office. She tells Whit that since she and Roxy went to Bergdorf Goodman and showed Whit's sketches, Kelly sent the "look book" to Bergdorf as a courtesy. The VP from Bergdorf called Kelly and told her that she liked the book. So Kelly tells Whit that she needs to do a presentation for Bergdorf and get a few models to show some of the looks. Kelly says it's important for her to be there and it's important for Whit to do this on her own. Whit says "So you don't think that Roxy should be there?" WHY WHIT? Why would you even bring up Roxy in this conversation. So DUMB. Kelly tells Whit that it would be a very bad idea to have Roxy there. Kelly explains that this is business and Bergdorf Goodman is the most important department store in the world. It's make it or break time. Translation: You cannot afford to have Roxy fuck it up in any way!

OPENING CREDITS

"Everything on the Line"

Elle Magazine. Erin goes into the room with Brynn and tells her that she needs everything packed up because they have to head to the Today Show. Brynn says that she noticed that Erin didn't have anything that she and Olivia picked out. Erin says that she's not using anything that Olivia picked and that she went ahead and pulled the looks herself. Brynn asks if Olivia knows and Erin tells her not to worry about it and that it doesn't matter. Ouch.

People's Revolution. Roxy assumes that she's going with Whit to the presentation and asks what Whit wants her to say. Whit tells her that Kelly doesn't want Roxy to go. Roxy decides to go and talk to Kelly. WTF? Just stay out of it Roxy. It's Whit's design collection. Do your own thing! Roxy says that she works really hard so why shouldn't she be there. Kelly says that she thinks Whit should have a trained salesperson there. Roxy says that it's frustrating when she's punished for exhibiting the same qualities that Kelly has. Kelly says that she and Roxy do have some similar qualities. BUT Kelly says that it would be better for Whit to have a professional salesperson to answer questions instead of standing there like "Lucy and Ethel". HA! Then she starts throwing out sales terms and asks if Roxy knows what any of the terms mean. She doesn't wait for a response and says "I don't think that you do." She thinks Whit should bring someone who knows what the f*** they're doing. Roxy says that Whit asked her to go. Kelly says that Whit is a big girl and if she wants Roxy there, then she should go with her. Then Kelly says "I've had enough of this for the day. You can go now." Roxy tries to say something and Kelly interrupts "Get the f*** out. I'm done. Good-bye." Awesome. I love Kelly Cutrone.

The Today Show. Joe Zee is talking to Olivia and he's asking her what she worked on. Olivia says that she worked on "evening out" and "a night on the town". Joe asked if they are using her "looks" and Olivia says she doesn't think so. Erin walks up and Joe asks if she needs Olivia to help get any of the models dressed and Erin says NO. Erin asks if Olivia will go over the looks with her. Erin asks Olivia if she understands why they didn't use Olivia's looks and what she was looking for. Olivia says she's going to refrain from answering that question. Awkward.

Milk Studios. This is where Whit is doing her presentation. Roxy is there! She's placing the look book out for each person. Sami shows up right when Kelly calls to tell Whit she's not coming to the presentation. Crap! Whit says she can't freak out, she just needs to get through this. All the important Bergdorf buyers show up in black Lincoln towncars.

The Today Show. Erin tells Olivia that she has to run out for a second and asks Olivia to stay on the set. Joe Zee comes to Olivia and asks her to run through the looks for him again. He needs the head to toe looks and the price points for each of the outfits so that he knows before getting on the air. Olivia says that Erin knows that information and then stutters about what she thinks different price points are and where they are from. She has no idea. Joe is frustrated and tells Olivia to go get Erin. Olivia walks away and then...doesn't get Erin. Joe goes on air and he's asked what things cost and he says each look is under $100. He pulls it off, but you can tell he's uncomfortable.

Milk Studios. All the buyers walk in and Whit greets them and has them sit. Linda Fargo, Senior VP, Fashion Office & Store Presentation is there with Ginny Hersh-Lambert, Senior VP/General Merchandising Manager, RTW, Footwear and Handbags (I'm not sure what RTW means, but she's important) and Sunny Spencer who is Sami's boss and a buyer for Bergdorf. Whit does a brief introduction of the collection and brings out the first look. It's a multi-colored mini-skirt with an eggshell colored jacket. I don't love it and neither do Ginny Hersh and Linda Fargo. Yikes. Strike One. The second look is a stretchy off-white lacy short dress with the shoulders cut out. Hmmm. Ginny Hersh says that the fabric is "interesting" in small patches but all over the dress, it just makes the model look large. They ask if she has it in black and she says she stays away from black because no one wears black in L.A. Um, Whit honey, you're in NYC!!! Ginny tells Whit that she's running a business that caters to all women, not just women in L.A. Then, Roxy says that she wears black in L.A. Why would she say that?? Hello?! You're there for Whit not to impress the Bergdorf women. Strike Two. Whit brings out the third - and final - look. It's the strapless dress with the black bow around the top. The bottom material is a metallic light pink/peach. Linda Fargo says that she doesn't like the fabric because it looks cheap. Strike Three. Whit says that she's learning and thanks them for their time. That's it?? You only show THREE LOOKS? This whole scene is so awkward.

The Today Show. Joe tells Erin that he was really tense on air and went on not knowing what the prices were or who the designers were. Joe says that he asked Olivia and she said she didn't have the information. He asks if Erin gave her the information. Erin says "Of course. I've given her nothing but information this entire time." Hmmm, not sure that's entirely true. However, if you know someone wants to see you fail, wouldn't you do whatever you could to ensure that didn't happen?? Erin is shocked that Olivia didn't know any of the prices or who the designers were. Erin says that Olivia needs to be gone and fired. Joe asks if Erin prepped Olivia because it's Erin's job to make sure Olivia is given the information. Erin says that she tried by the green room and Olivia wasn't interested. Erin says that it's not about personalities anymore, Olivia just doesn't care and she needs to be fired.

Olivia walks up all nonchalantly and tells Joe he did a good job. Then she calmly says that everything is bagged up and ready to go. Joe says that he's freaking out because he was so tense and he didn't now anything about prices or designers. Erin asks Olivia why she told Joe that Erin didn't give her any of the information. Olivia says that Erin didn't give her the information. Erin asks Olivia: "Did you not have THREE HOURS to learn that information and get it to Joe." Olivia dismisses the question and says that the looks were Erin's so it wasn't her thing. Erin said that they were her looks because Olivia couldn't do the job and can't understand why she just sat around for three hours and didn't learn the information. Olivia responds "Ok. Well, I'm going to head back to the office now. Everything is bagged." Joe says they'll deal with this at the office.

Roxy and Whit are walking to work and Whit says she's nervous about meeting with Kelly. Kelly told her that Linda Fargo called and wants to give Whit feedback.

Elle Magazine. Joe, Erin and Olivia are in Joe's office and he wants to know what happened at the Today Show. Olivia says that if Erin neglects to share information with her then that's Erin's problem. Erin says that it's Olivia's problem because Olivia keeps messing up and Erin keeps having to fix it. And Erin says that if she doesn't take the time during a live television shoot to sit down with Olivia and go through every single price with her, it's not Erin's problem, it's Olivia's problem. Olivia tells Joe that they can't move forward if Erin doesn't respect her. Erin says that Olivia has not given Erin any reason to respect her since she started. Erin says that she doesn't even like dealing with Olivia. Olivia says that's very clear and unfortunately, Olivia is working at this magazine so she has to deal with her. Erin says, "yeah, unfortunately." Ouch. Olivia says in order for her to do her job, Erin has to change her tone of voice with her. Erin says "or else what?"

Joe interrupts and says this isn't high school and he doesn't want to mediate. Joe looks at Olivia and says that they've been here before. He brought Olivia on board because she has a good eye, she knows fashion and people in the industry, but sometimes he wonders if she really wants to be at Elle. Olivia says of course she does. Olivia looks at Erin and asks if she wants to work with her, yes or no. Erin says she would never quit anything (Olivia says she wouldn't quit either) and that she's way harder on herself than she is on Olivia, but she expects Olivia to be the same way. Joe asks if they can no longer work together anymore. Erin says that she can't work with Olivia so it's either Erin or Olivia. The three of them just sit there and Erin leaves the room. Olivia says she doesn't know what do and doesn't want to have the same bullshit conversation that they've had 16,000 times before. Joe says "I just want to know, can you girls work together?" Um, weren't you listening to Erin? She said NO! Olivia says she doesn't know how to work with Erin. I think that's because Olivia has no work ethic. She doesn't have to work, she's a trust fund kid. She doesn't "need" this job, so she doesn't feel like she has to work hard. She's so entitled. I think that's what Erin finds frustrating. People like Erin and Brynn have to work their asses off to prove themselves so that they can keep their jobs and move up the ladder. Olivia isn't like that. She thinks she should move up because she's Olivia Palermo. Annoying.

People's Revolution. Kelly says that Linda Fargo isn't prepared to give them an answer yet. One thing she did say was that she can't buy a collection based on 10 looks and then asked if there was going to be a show. This gave Kelly an idea. Last year they went to ING (or IMG? Not sure) and asked to do three shows in one venue to give young designers an opportunity to show their stuff. It went really well, but this year one of the designers dropped out, so they have space for a designer. Kelly says that Whit could do it, but it's a leap of faith. Kelly tells Whit that it's a huge risk. If it works and does well, it would be HUGE for Whit's career. If it tanks, then Whit's career is over. Kelly says she'll take the risk with Whit because if her show sucks, Kelly is going down the drain with her. Which is not entirely true. Kelly has a super successful business. One bad show will not break her. But, I get what she's saying. Whit says she's going to make it happen.

THE END.

The City, Season Two, Episode 22

Last time on The City: Kelly Cutrone was awesome, Olivia sucked and Whit went on a blind date.

Somewhere in NYC: Whit's designs arrive and she's showing them to Kelly Cutrone. Kelly tells her that the next step is getting a "look book" together. Kelly says she needs to get a photographer, location, hair, make-up, stylist, etc. Whit looks overwhelmed. Kelly says she'll take care of most of it, but Whit needs to start thinking about casting and what she wants the girls to look like. Whit says that maybe Roxy can help with casting and Kelly asks if she's ever done it before. Whit says that this could be her first time. Kelly says "Great." And not in a good way. Then she tells Whit that she can't stress how important this look book is for Whit's career. Kelly tells her that she has to put her best foot forward because if she doesn't, the other foot won't follow. This look book will either make or break her career in fashion. What's Kelly's point? DON'T USE ROXY.

OPENING CREDITS

"If You Want Something Done Right..."

People's Revolution, Soho. Whit is doing the casting for her look book and Roxy is there. Kelly walks in ... a little late and says that she didn't know Roxy was working today. Roxy says that she's helping and Kelly gives Whit the "I thought I f-ing told you how important this is. Why is she here?!?!" look. Kelly says that this has to be done right. Then she tells Roxy that she can "push" which I guess means bring the models to Kelly and Whit. So, Roxy walks over to a model and says "you were here first, right?" I'm guessing that's not how it's done. Kelly asks Whit "you had Roxy call the models?" and Whit says "yeah, I figured she could do that." Kelly isn't convinced.

First model up...doesn't have a book. She says it's in the mail. Kelly says "without a book, we can't see how you'll look on film. Ciao. Next." heh. Kelly hates everyone that Roxy is sending back, so Kelly goes out and points to 3 girls and tells the rest to go home. Then she calls Roxy to the back. Kelly tells Roxy that the girls she's picked are not cutting it. "The theme is fairytale tea party not gothic nightmare." HAHA!! Kelly tells Roxy that she's going to need to really pull out all the stops and find some models that work. Because so far this is a disaster for Whit, who put her ass on the line for Roxy. Damn. Kelly: "You're gonna need to pull some magic because this thing is a disaster for her. Get on the phone and find me some models that work." LOVE. Kelly.

Elle Magazine. Erin is sporting some fierce heels. Erin tells Joe that they booked the Today Show and they want him on air. They want 8 looks head to toe and they are giving Elle 6 minutes. Apparently, that's awesome, but Joe says it will be a lot of work. Erin says that she'll need help. Joe says this is the perfect thing for Olivia to work on with Erin. Erin laughs and says that out of everyone at Elle, Joe thinks Olivia is the perfect person. Joe says that she proved herself to him and that he's putting himself on the line for her. Erin says she can't figure out why he would do that. Joe says that he thinks Olivia can do this and Erin says "Let's hope."

People's Revolution, Soho. Roxy brings in a new batch of models and Kelly loves the first two. She thinks that one of the girls looks just like Whit's inspiration for the collection ... BUT, she's short. Kelly and Whit agree on the taller one, Stefania. Yeah. They are booking her. Kelly high fives Roxy and says "Lucky for you, my friend." HA.

Elle Magazine. Erin tells Olivia that they have a Today Show segment. Olivia says "another one. Ok." Erin says yes, but that this time they want Joe Zee on air so it has to be perfect. Erin says the last one was mediocre at best so they need to step it up this time. Erin says that they are doing a "He said, she said" theme. Clothes that girls think guys like to see them in and clothes that guys actually like to see girls wear. Olivia is doing "Meet the parents" and "Evening out". Erin tells Olivia exactly what she needs to get. For "meet the parents", the girl look is flats, skirt, cardigan and the guy's choice is jeans, sweater and sandals. For "Evening out", the girl look is heels, skinny pant/jean and flowy top and the guy's choice is a dress and heels. I mean, how hard can it be? I guess, pretty hard. Olivia tells Erin not to stress and Erin says the fact that Olivia isn't stressed worries her. Olivia says "I'm going to be fine. Don't worry." Erin: "I think that's what you said last time." Snap.

People's Revolution, Soho. It's Whit's look book photo shoot!! The roof is set up like Alice in Wonderland and it looks very romantic. Roxy asks Whit to funk it up a little bit and right then Kelly walks in and takes over. There's a reason she owns her own PR firm. Roxy keeps trying to funk it up with different ideas...like having the models scream or a food fight. Kelly has had enough, so she pulls Roxy to the side and says "I don't want to upset Whitney because this is her shoot. But I don't want her looking at you and you talking..." Roxy tries to interupt and Kelly says "No no no. I'm going to talk. So no cake fights, no nothing. This is like criss cross apple sauce. Nice and clean so we can get through it. Ok." They keep shooting and Roxy doesn't listen to Kelly and says "let's just get one last shot of someone opening champagne." Whit doesn't say anything but kind of walks away. Kelly tells Roxy that the champagne will explode if she shakes it...which Roxy does. The model opens the champagne and it goes everywhere and ON THE CLOTHES. The dress has champagne all over it. Kelly ends the shoot and says she's going to dinner. Roxy says she'll clean up and Kelly tells her not to break anything else. Whit says she'll help clean up. Roxy says no and tells Whit that she already knows she's mad. Whit tries to say she's not mad, but she's totally pissed. Roxy tells Whit that she can tell that Whit's pissed. Whit says that she just didn't forsee food and champagne going all over her stuff. Seriously, why would Roxy do that??? She's so narcissistic. Then, to break the awkward silence, Roxy throws cake at Whit and they get into a food fight. Dumb.

Mango, Soho. Ooh, I used to love Mango. Then it came to the US and became another H&M (ie. cheap European Contempo). Olivia is meeting Brynn (an Elle accessories intern) to help her put together looks for the shoot. Brynn picks out a black sequined dress and Olivia is concerned that it might fit the model wrong. Olivia: "I can pull it off but I'm not sure everyone can." Ugh. Olivia picks a black pantsuit (?? I think??) and Brynn says "that's not going to go over well." Olivia says that she likes it so she's keeping it. Uh oh. Brynn says that she doesn't want to piss Erin off and that last time they didn't have enough options. So, Brynn suggests that they go pull more dresses but Olivia says "I think we're done. We're all set." Brynn looks nervous and is telling Olivia that they need more options and Olivia says that she's happy so they're leaving. Not good.

Elle Magazine. Olivia is doing a fitting with the models. Erin walks in and says that the dress is too tight on the model. Olivia says she disagrees and Erin says that she's not wearing the dress. Olivia says she disagrees and Erin says she doesn't care. Then they go to the jeans, sandals, sweater look and Erin asks why the jeans are a size 2 if the model is a size 4. Olivia says that they can fix that. Olivia says that she could only find ONE pair of sandals. Erin asks her why she didn't go to more stores. Olivia says that's all she could find. Erin says Olivia is leaving her at the 11th hour without options AGAIN. Erin is totally pissed and she tells the models they can leave. Olivia wishes Erin luck on finding sandals and Erin says that Olivia wished her luck last time and Erin was able to pull it off with lots of options. Erin says that everything has to go back and Olivia says she disagrees about the dress. Erin says she doesn't care, it's going back. Olivia says that they should ask Joe what he thinks. Erin says that Joe has nothing to do with this segment and that she has done this enough to know what they are looking for. Olivia then asks "Erin, would you talk to Joe in the tone that you talk to me?" Erin reminds Olivia that she's NOT JOE. Then Olivia says "I'm saying that you need to respect all your colleagues on the same level". Mind you, she's saying all of this while going through a rack of clothes and doesn't even look up at Erin once. Erin asks Brynn to leave which she does GLADLY I'm sure.

Erin says that if she doesn't want the size 16 model to wear the size 14 dress, then that's it. She's not wearing it, let's move on. Olivia says she disagrees and asks Erin to have an open mind. Erin says she has an open mind to let Olivia go to the store and re-pull outfits for the segment. Erin says that it's taking everything in her not to go to the store and do it herself. Then she tells Olivia that it's Erin's segment, Erin's producers, Erin's contacts and Erin's models so she chooses what goes on the air, NOT Joe. Joe is going to see the clothes the day of the shoot. And scene.

People's Revolution. Roxy says she returned all the shoes, accessories, etc. from the photo shoot and she got the dress with champagne on it dry cleaned. Kelly comes in and says that the look book is ready and the photographer sent it to them. Roxy asks if she can come, too, and Kelly tells her that she wants to look at it with Whit alone first and Roxy can see it later. Oh dang. Kelly and Whit love the pics and they arrive at the pic of the dress that got champagne all over it. Whit says that she and Roxy worked everything out. Kelly says that she likes Roxy but she gets a little carried away. Whit says she's learning and Kelly says it seems like Roxy wants to learn the hard way. Then Kelly tells Whit that she needs to decide if it's worth it to keep someone like that around.

Elle Magazine. Erin goes in to talk to Brynn about what just happened. Brynn looks terrified. Erin repeats what she needed and that what was shown to her was a disaster. Brynn says that they'll go back and she has everything written down and she'll get it done. Erin is just venting. She tells Brynn that this wasn't Brynn's responsibility, it was an Olivia "accessories editor" task. Erin says that it's insulting to Elle and to Joe that Olivia doesn't take her seriously. This task is a reflection on Elle and it's insulting to the producers who trust that the Elle people know what they're doing. Erin says that if one store doesn't have it, go to another store, and another store. Don't give up and come back until you have the looks. Brynn gets it. She got it at Mango. Erin tells Brynn it's not her. Erin just doesn't think that Olivia cares. Erin: "She just doesn't deserve to be here at all." Agreed. See parents?? Don't spoil your kids!!! They will turn out entitled and obnoxious like Olivia!

See you later this week for the finale!!

The City, Season Two, Episode 21

Last time on The City: Kelly was an awesome BITCH, Roxy was a bad friend and Olivia was annoying.

Whitney and Roxy are having lunch and talking about calling pest control. Apparently, there's a squirrel in Whit's apartment. How does that even happen? Whit tells Roxy that Sami is setting her up with some guy and she's going out with him tonight. Apparently, he works at Bergdorf's with Sami...um, is he straight?? This is Whit's FIRST blind date. Roxy says that she has a date with Zac again tonight. Although, she has a feeling in her tummy that something is just not right with him. But that makes her even more attracted to him...not ok.

OPENING CREDITS

"Forget About Boys"

Elle Magazine. Olivia walks in and Joe tells her that he needs her help. They are having a photo shoot with Brooklyn Decker (Andy Roddick's wife) and he needs her to get the accessories together and organized so that the shoot goes smoothly. He tells her that it's "men's wear" inspired so Olivia should pick out more masculine accessories. OMG! I just laughed out loud. Joe says that Brooklyn is so sexy, she can pull off men's accessories. Joe: "I love a men's watch on a woman." Olivia: "Me too. I love it. It's the sexiest thing." STFU, Olivia. So dumb. Erin is walking by and hears them chatting and walks in. She tells Joe that she's excited to meet Brooklyn and Joe tells her she should come to the shoot to go over PR stuff with Brooklyn and Erin says she'll definitely be there. The three get silent and look at each other. Awkward.

Bar Artisanal, Tribeca. Whit meets her blind date, Patrick. She asks if she made him wait long. He says yes, but it's all good. HA! Then he notices that she's "rockin' some bling this evening." I like him. She asks what he does and he says that he convinces people to buy expensive clothes. HAHA. Then he asks Whit if she shops on 5F. Whit says "What's that, like, Fifth Avenue?" and then realizes that it's the floor he works on at Bergdorf and they both laugh. Whit, don't be dumb. He jokes that he's talking slang. Then he says that he told his roommate to meet him at "LV" the other day and Whit asks what that is. He says "Are you serious? Louis Vuitton." HELLO?? Even I knew that, Whit. I don't think Whit gets his humor. He's a little tiny bit effeminite. Just slightly. They aren't talking and it gets awkward.

Madam Geneva, Noho. Roxy meets Zac for dinner. She asks him about his friends and he tells her that she'll meet them. Then she asks what happened with him and his girlfriend. Rookie move, Roxy. Why ask him that? Does she really want to know? He tells her that they broke up. Done and done. Roxy says she thinks it's more complicated than that. He says it was, but he's making it simple. Ha. Roxy tells him that her ex was CRAZY.

Bar Artisanal, Tribeca. Blind date is still awkward. Patrick asks Whit if he can try some of her watermelon. She says yes and he tries some. She tells him that the point is to eat it with the cheese and he tells her that he will keep that in mind. I think Whit doesn't like this guy because he has a personality, he's too smart for her and he's not falling all over her. WOW...it just got super awkward. The bill comes and he says "let's join forces". Whit says "join forces?" and he says "Yeah. Team up." HAHAHA. Basically, this guy sees that the date is going nowhere, so he figures why should he have to pay. It's a blind date...he didn't ask her out. Fair is fair. It's just funny because Whit is super insulted. I actually understand. I'm a little traditional on a first date...I think the guy should pick up the bill. I know...it's not very "women's lib" of me, but that's just what I think.

Whit's Apartment, West Village. Whit tells Roxy that the date was "kind of a nightmare". She says that he started out by complimenting her "bling" and then had all these abbreviations, like "LV" for Louis Vuitton. Not entirely accurate. If she understood his humor, she would know that he was actually making fun of her by calling it "bling" and assumed - because she's in fashion - that she would know LV. Then she says the best part of the night was when the bill came and he told her they should "join forces". She says she didn't mind splitting but it was the way he said it - "join forces" - that bothered her. Then she asks about Roxy's date. Roxy says that she likes how grounded Zac is and that she's not sure if she "likes him, likes him" but after hearing about Whit's date, Zac is Prince Charming. Tonight she's going to see him again and this time she's bringing Whit.

Brooklyn Decker Photo Shoot, Midtown East. Joe tells Olivia he wants to see "preppie" and "wasp-y" in the looks. Erin walks in and she and Joe go to meet Brooklyn. They go up to the roof where the photoshoot is taking place and Joe tells Erin that Olivia is getting it. He also concedes that maybe it's because she knows "preppie" and "wasp-y" styles, but whatever. Joe keeps praising her and Erin says "Let's not get too ahead of ourselves. All she did was pull one outfit that looks exactly like her." He tells Erin that with proper management, Olivia can do well. Erin, correctly, asks who has time to micro manage her to make sure she doesn't screw up. Then she asks if maybe Joe's expectations for Olivia are a little low. They go back and forth. Finally Erin says that she doesn't know why she has to hold Olivia's hand because no one held hers. The photo shoot is going on and Joe is about to leave. He tells Erin and Olivia about a dinner party he's having and invites them both to stop by.

The Gates, Chelsea. Whit, Roxy and Sami go to The Gates and Roxy says that she invited Zac and told him to bring his hot friends. Zac comes in with 6 girls and tells Roxy that the table she has is too small so he and his friends are going to find a bigger table. Then Roxy says "ok, I guess I'll see you later" and he says "ok, cool" and walks away. NOT OK. Whit and Sami are totally disgusted by Zac's behavior. His friends ask what the deal is and Zac tells them that Roxy is his friend from LA and she has a crush on him. WOW. Ego much? He said he asked her out to drinks and said he would introduce her to some people. His friend asks if she thought "drinks" was a date and Zac says "some might think that". What a douche.

Zac comes over to talk to Roxy and she goes off. She tells him that SHE invited him out with HER friends and asked him to bring some hot guys (for her friends) and he shows up with 6 girls. She tells him he's RUDE. He says that she invited him to a club that he goes to anyway. And, he comes over to say hi and she attacks him. Roxy says she doesn't even want to talk to him anymore and he gets up and thanks her for inviting him.

Rouge Tomate, Upper East Side. Joe is having his dinner party with the band COBRA STARSHIP, Erin, Olivia and the Editor in Chief of ELLE, Robbie Myers. The band and Robbie are asking about the photo shoot with Brooklyn and if Olivia and Erin worked together. Joe jumps in and says that they worked really well together and that he loves Olivia's eye for fashion. Erin is visibly annoyed. Robbie says she needs a dress for a Hollywood event. Joe says that the girls can help and Erin can do the PR stuff. Then Erin suggests that they pick 5 celebs including Robbie and do a shoot with them getting ready for the event. Olivia says that getting ready is a private thing and Erin tells her that they aren't going in her bedroom. Robbie notes that they make a good team and Olivia says "Indeed". Erin hates Olivia.

Joe and Robbie leave and Olivia, a senior editor, Erin and the band stay and continue to eat. They ask Olivia if she's into music and she says that she loves music. Her favorite is "house" music and that she has always been the biggest hip hop fan. So the lead singer asks her if she likes "Tribe" and Olivia looks confused, so he clarifies "Tribe Called Quest" and Olivia says that she's never heard of them. Dumbass. How can you "love hip hop" and not know Tribe Called Quest. Olivia excuses herself and after she leaves, Erin bitches about her to the band and the senior editor. Not very professional, Erin.

People's Revolution. Whit asks Roxy what was up with Zac. She says she has no idea...he was acting different, he dressed totally different, and he was with "has been", old models. Whit and Roxy are totally chatting loudly at their desks and Kelly keeps looking over at them. The other employees are also listening and looking at them. Kelly interrupts and asks Whit to come into her office. Whit walks in and Kelly says "Do not make listen to that. It's bad enough I have to hear Roxy's voice in my office, but to hear you guys talk about boys when I'm trying to run a freakin' company during this recession" OMG. Seriously, every boss in America is loving the "in this economy" and "during the recession" excuse for EVERYTHING. JEEZ. Whit says she's sorry and Kelly says that she should be. Kelly: "First of all, it's not appropriate for our office, but secondly, if you told me you wanted to be a cook or a librarian, I'd be like, do whatever the f*** you want. But you want to be a fashion designer, you have to work your ass off. And aside from your early sketches, you haven't shown me anything yet. Forget about boys, you gotta stay focused on the task at hand. You've got a collection to make. So stop wasting your time and mine, alright? And watch out for hanging out with kooks, ok. Because Roxy doesn't have the same pressures that you have. It's apples and oranges. So don't f*** around, Ok?" SNAP! Love that woman.

See you next week.

The City, Season Two, Episode 20

Last time on The City: Freddie and Olivia suck.

People's Revolution. Kelly walks in and wants to know why everyone is so happy. Then she points out an article that says "Gift cards lose cache as anxious consumers opt to buy the basics" which apparently is the kiss of death for fashion. Roxy asks Whit for a pen and Kelly is NOT in the mood. She tells Roxy that she's in a staff meeting so she should have a pen and paper! HELLO? Duh! Kelly reminds everyone that there's a recession going on and people are getting fired all over the place. But People's Revolution is growing. And in order to keep growing and not fire people, they need to bring pens to meetings and STEP IT UP. Kelly is in full on "bitch mode" this morning. Ouch. Mara Hoffman is a swimsuit designer who is showing her stuff at Miami Fashion Week and a team has been assembled to go down there. Kelly says that Whit should go, too and she can bring her trainee, Roxy, but wants to lay down some ground rules. They aren't going to eat at fancy restaurants and expect Kelly to pay. Not happening. Eat like you would in New York and don't bring back any receipts. And...scene.

OPENING CREDITS

"Friends and Foe-Workers"

Elle Magazine. Olivia has been bonding with the flat iron this morning. Joe talks to Olivia about Miami Fashion Week and wants to send her as the sole accessories editor to go down there and cover it. Joe says that the blog thing last week was a learning experience and Olivia agrees. He says that Elle is hosting a big party so Erin is going down to Miami to do that, but he really needs Olivia to take the lead on covering fashion week. Hmmm...

W Hotel, South Beach, Miami. Whit and Roxy walk into a fabulous suite and Roxy says the place is begging them to have a party. Whit says she wishes they were on vacay. Roxy says that they are on vacay. No, Roxy, you're not. Roxy wants to go lay out and Whit tells her that they have to get ready for the casting. Roxy's response: I'm starving. Jeez. Roxy says she wants to order room service and Whit suggests they get something on their way out so they don't charge anything to the room. Roxy rolls her eyes. I have to give Whit props for trying to keep Roxy focused. Good luck, Whit.

La'Guardia Airport, Queens, NY. Olivia and Erin board the plane (first class, of course) and head to Miami. Erin asks Olivia if she's looking forward to Miami and Olivia says she is. Then Erin asks if Olivia is going to the trade shows and Olivia says she's not. She's only going to the shows on her list. Erin looks like she thinks that's a bad idea but doesn't say anything. Olivia asks Erin if she has any friends in Miami and Erin says yes and then asks the same of Olivia. Olivia tells her that Whit from People's Revolution will be there for the Mara Hoffman Show. Olivia says she might try to catch up with her. Olivia is VBI (very busy & important) so she may not have time. [insert eye roll here]

Mara Hoffman Casting Session, The Raleigh Hotel, Miami. Mara and Kelly are casting and they are so harsh. I mean, these girls put on bikinis and chose this profession, so I guess it is what it is. But, ouch. Roxy wants to go out, but Whit says she needs to check in with the designer to make sure she's ok. So Roxy tells Whit to check in with Mara, they'll make a list and then GO OUT!! I predict Roxy will be on an upcoming Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew.

The Florida Room, Miami. Nick (Whit's friend) is there doing some weird white boy dance. Roxy and Whit show up and they get their drink on. Nick asks Roxy where she went to college and Roxy says "Harvard". I assume she's kidding, because Nick says "Me too." Then Roxy says she's not a good student and Nick says he's not either. Nick makes fun of Whit for being a good student and saying she never wants to go out because she's always studying. They all go out and dance and Whit says she'll be right back and - I assume - goes to the bathroom. Nick starts hitting on Roxy. Roxy asks Nick if he wants to go somewhere else and they totally leave Whit. Whit cames back - from the bathroom, I assume - and Nick and Roxy are gone. RUDE.

Mara Hoffman Fashion Show, The Raleigh Hotel. Whit shows up and Kelly asks where Roxy is. Whit doesn't know. Interesting...so Roxy didn't come back to the hotel last night. Dirty. Everyone is getting ready backstage. Olivia is at the show and Whit comes out to greet her. Whit takes her backstage to show her all the accessories. Whit introduces Olivia to Mara and Olivia asks what her inspiration was for the collection. Mara says "Vision Quest". WTF? Weirdo. Whit describes it as "futuristic hippie". Hmmm, not sure that's better. Olivia goes back out and sits with Erin. Roxy comes in ... LATE ... and walks up to Whit. Whit asks her what happened to her last night and Roxy looks confused. Whit says that she told her she would be right back and Roxy was gone when she came back. Roxy says that she couldn't find Whit and didn't know where she went. LIAR. Roxy didn't even THINK about Whit when she asked Nick if he wanted to go somewhere else. They are fighting about what happened. Whit says she told her she'd be right back (which she did) and Roxy says she didn't hear that and couldn't find Whit. Mara and Kelly are noticing the fight which is TOTALLY unprofessional and completely embarassing to Kelly. Whit asks why she didn't call her and Roxy says she lost her cell phone two days ago. Kelly comes up and says "Are you guys arguing? What the fuck is going on here? There are 700 million things that have to go on. If you guys have a problem, take it outside. This is not fucking group therapy. I don't want to see this shit anymore. For real. I've got enough problems going on here." Go Kelly. I love her. Have I said that before? She's my hero. Whit goes with Kelly and helps her direct. Roxy stays to help out backstage. The show goes great. Mara comes out at the end and Kelly tells Whit that's going to be her someday. Sweet. Kelly tells everyone they did a great job.

Elle After Party, W Hotel. OMG. There are models posing on blocks that say ELLE on them in the pool. Dumb. Olivia is talking to her friend, Red Carter (a designer) and Erin tells her colleague from Elle that she hopes Olivia is getting some exclusives. The colleague (i must have missed the name) asks Erin what she thinks of Olivia. Erin says that she hasn't been impressed, but Olivia could pull something off. She says that Olivia needs to get exclusives and make sure they are right for Elle. Erin is skeptical. And so am I. Erin says that she wasn't taking any notes at the Mara Hoffman show, but she doesn't know. Maybe Olivia has a plan. Erin says that if she didn't go to trade shows that's going to be a huge problem. Erin goes to talk to Olivia to see how she did. Olivia says she got a lot of stuff. She didn't go to any trade shows because she had appointments and other shows, blah, blah, blah. Erin asks if she has a lot to show Joe and Olivia says she does. Erin tells Olivia that she's excited to see what she has and Olivia says "Thanks" in a very snarky, sarcastic voice. Erin goes back to her colleague and they laugh that Olivia didn't go to any trade shows and that Joe is going to freak out. Ok, you KNOW I don't like Olivia, but why didn't Erin tell Olivia on the plane that she should try and go to some trade shows? Then, if Olivia STILL didn't go, Erin can say she encouraged Olivia, but Olivia ignored her. Now, Erin looks like a bitch for not "mentoring" Olivia by telling her that she should go. I get that she wants Olivia to fail. But, if she had encouraged her, Olivia would not have gone and would have failed anyway. Dumb.

Elle Magazine. It looks like a staff meeting run by Joe. He asks what everyone saw at Miami Fashion Week. Erin talks about the Lycra after party for Elle and that the trip was a HUGE success press-wise. She says she went to tons of trade shows and met with publicists and model agents and it was great! Olivia says that she went to a few shows and saw a lot of futuristic looks. Um, that was just the Mara Hoffman show. Then she says that one-pieces and turbins dominated the runways. Joe asks what trends Olivia saw at the trade shows. She stutters that she only went to the fashion shows. Joe asks why she didn't go to the trade shows?? Olivia says that honestly she didn't know about the trade shows. LIAR. Erin says that she asked Olivia about the trade shows on the plane. Olivia says that she told Erin she only had fashion shows on her schedule and Erin says she should have scheduled trade shows. Olivia says she didn't know about the trade shows at all. So Joe tells everyone else to leave except Olivia and Erin.

Joe says that, as an editor, you have to go and see EVERYTHING. Olivia said that maybe she and Erin could have worked together and gone to trade shows together. Erin says that she had her own job to do which didn't leave time for anything else. Joe says - exasperatedly - from day one, he has told Erin she is supposed to show Olivia the ropes and she should have told Olivia that she needs to go to the trade shows. See? Didn't I tell you this would happen? Erin could have easily told Olivia that on the plane. Erin says she can only do so much and that she's tried to reach out to Olivia. Joe tells Erin not to be defensive. Joe says he doesn't want any bickering or personality conflicts. Joe says that he's telling them both that he wants them to work together. Olivia agrees that she would very much like that. Joe says a team gets things done more easily and a team is much stronger than an individual. Olivia is happy. Erin is not.

People's Revolution. Kelly walks in and tells Roxy and Whit that the fighting backstage was beyond a huge embarassment for her. Kelly says that she doesn't work with her friends because it doesn't usually work. So she tells them to consider whether being friends and working together is actually going to benefit them in their careers. Roxy tells Whit "She didn't say one nice thing" as Kelly walks away. Kelly totally overhears and says "OOOHHHH. Well you know what, call me like a controlling bitch for wanting us to be professional and deal with the media instead of having whatever...i don't even know what you guys were fighting about. If it happens again, you guys can go find another job. I have better things to do." Oh dang!!! Roxy, wait until Kelly is OUT OF THE ROOM before you start talking shit. JEEZ! Kelly sits at her desk and yells out "Were you guys in Room 615?" Whit: "Yes." Kelly: "What is this bill for like $200? I'm sorry at your level, I give you guys $50 a day per diem. That's $50 and $50, you owe me $100. I'll take it out of your pay. Go to Taco Bell next time. What planet are you living on?" Roxy says "someone's PMSing" and Whit just shakes her head and puts her head in her hands. [FYI - Kelly, "a day per diem" is redundant. "Per diem" means "a day". Just sayin'.]

See you next week.
