The Hills, Season 5, Episode 513

Previously on...The Hills. Sponge Bob was a d-bag, Heidi pretends to get mad, but still wants babies with him. Kristin pretended to "reach out" to Audrina and when Audrina stood her up, she decided to go after dirty JB.

Hustler Store. Kristin and her new BFF, Bartender Stacie ("BS") go into the Hustler store. They are shopping for a birthday gift for Brody. Kristin jokes that they should get him a whip since he's so whipped by Jayde. Heh. BS tries on a dog collar. Nice. They talk about getting him a sex toy and then Kristin tells BS that Brody was very "vanilla" in the bedroom. Way to kiss and tell Kristin. Classy. Brody's birthday party is a surprise party. Kristin tell BS that she wants to go with JB. I guess she thinks he's her boyfriend now. This oughtta be good. HA! Hey Kristin, he's just not that into you. I haven't seen the whole episode yet, but I'm guessing this is going to be the take away. Let's find out....

OPENING CREDITS
"STRIKE ONE"

Kristin's House, Malibu. Kristin and JB are at the beach. JB is surfing. Why does he have "ITALIA" tatooed across his stomach? Kristin offers him a plasic cup of wine and JB says "it's kind of early". Heh. It's never too early, JB!! Kristin compliments JB's tat and she says she wants to get two more stars on her foot. She says she already has one and she wants two more. OMG. JB delivers the best line in this episode "You're kidding. Stars? You think you're a galaxy? WTF?" LMAO. I can't explain it, I just thought it was so funny. Kristin asks JB if he's going to Brody's surprise bday party and says that they should go together. JB says "OK" as he picks his nose. GROSS.

(As Kristin and JB spray each other with a hose, the song "I'm Not Your Boyfriend, Baby" by 30H!3 plays in the background).

Recess, Los Angeles. Audrina and She-Pratt are getting mani/pedis. Apparently, Audrina has been staying in and tells She-Pratt that she's ready to start going out again. Jeez. That was a very mini-hiatus. She "stayed in" for about a week. Audrina asks She-Pratt if she remembers Audrina's friend, Derek. She-Pratt says that she thought Derek was JB's bff. Audrina tells her that Derek is friends with both of them. She-Pratt and I see where this is going. I guess Derek is "HOT" according to She-Pratt. Derek asked Audrina out on a lunch date and she's contemplating going. Obviously, she will go because that will create drama. HAHA. Audrina says that JB used to always think that she and Derek "hooked-up". She-Pratt asks if they kissed. Audrina doesn't answer but just says that JB thought they "HOOKED-UP hooked-up". Which I assume means that she made out with him but they didn't do the nasty.

Brody's Birthday Party, Malibu. There are several "bouncy houses" that you often find at 4 year old bday parties. However, at Brody's surprised party, they have water spraying on them and girls in bikinis are bouncing. Kristin shows up and hugs Brody's face-lifted mother, Linda. Jayde asks Kristin if JB is coming and she says yes. Then She-Pratt and Lo are looking over at the guys wondering if JB is coming. She-Pratt says she's "surprised" that Kristin and JB didn't show up together. HELLO??? Where were you guys these past 4 seasons?? JB is a committment-phobe! He will sleep with you, but he will NOT engage in boyfriend-like behavior. Have you learned NOTHING??

Jayde gets everyone's attention and gives a one-minute warning. Everyone is crouched down and they all yell "SURPRISE" as Brody drives up. He's surprised. Lo asks Kristin if she and JB are dating and Kristin confirms that they are. She-Pratt asks why they didn't come together and Kristin says "he's coming...I think". HA. Brody walks up to them and asks Kristin where "her man" is. heh.

OOHHHH. It's not a bouncy house, it's a blow-up slip and slide. That looks so fun!! The boys are throwing water balloons and Frankie throws one and hits Kristin right in the face. CLASSIC!! It smacks her sunglasses off and totally just nails her in the face. Rad. Frankie blames someone else. Brody comes to see how Kristin is and Jayde rolls her eyes. Brody asks again where Kristin's man is. Linda - who is not only face-lifted, but also thinks she's 25 and I'm sure has fake boobs, butt, hair, etc. - says that he's not her man and that she's too good for him. Well, Linda, even though you have no idea what's going on, you're right. In an attempt to remove the attention from Kristin, Jayde announces that Brody needs to open the gifts. He opens Kristin and BS's gift and they got him a dog collar with a leash and a whip. Kristin announces that the whip is for Jayde because Brody is whipped on her. Jayde is unimpressed with the gifts. I'd be pretty embarassed, but I guess if you're a Playmate and your boyfriend's mom is trying to be bff with all these people 1/2 her age, you're not embarassed. Kristin tells Brody and the rest of the party that she's having an "after-party" at her house just up the street. Jayde tells Brody that people need a break and dinner first. Kristin and Brody ignore her and rally people to go to Kristin's. Jayde is pissed and Brody calls her a "bitch". Yikes. Not good.

Audrina's house, Hollywood. Derek picks up Audrina in his TRUCK. Man, it's the biggest truck I've ever seen. He asks Audrina if she went to the TOOL concert. HAHA. I can't help but laugh because I think Derek IS a tool. Apparently, she was there and he saw her from afar. Derek tells Audrina that he didn't tell JB that they were going to lunch. They convince themselves that it's not a big deal.

Speidi's House, Hollywood. I was wondering where they were. Sponge Bob and his "friend" Charlie are hitting golf balls out into the Hollywood hills from Speidi's backyard. Sponge Bob asks Charlie what this house looks like to him. Charlie says it looks like "married life". Sponge Bob complains that "married life" to Heidi means a bunch of kids NOW. Charlie can't believe she wants kids since they just got married. Sponge Bob says that he never would have gotten married if he knew that the second they got married it was "kid time." HAHA. That's a lie. He still would've gotten married. It's called publicity! Sponge Bob is telling Charlie about the neighbors. Apparently they have Enzo AND a 1-year old. He says again that Enzo is 6...wow, maybe he is. I swear he looks 4. Just as he's bitching, Enzo yells "Hey Spencer! What are you doing?" Charlie and Enzo shake hands while Sponge Bob tries to remind Enzo of the "rule" about not coming over uninvited. Sponge Bob is such an a-hole. Sponge Bob asks Enzo how he gets in when the gate is closed. Enzo recites the code to the gate and Sponge Bob says he'll be changing that tonight. Charlie is nice and invites Enzo to hit golf balls with them and then goes to grab him a smaller club. Sponge Bob asks if Enzo's mom knows where he is and Enzo says yes and then tells Sponge Bob that Heidi likes kids. Then stupid Sponge Bob hits a golf ball down the hill and tries to tell Enzo to go get it. Enzo is no fool and tells Sponge Bob that the ball is already lost. Then Sponge Bob tells Enzo to play hide and seek. He tells Enzo to hide and that they'll count to 2,000. MEAN. Sponge Bob can't understand why Heidi wants kids since "most girls want to keep their tight little bodies." Wow. I don't even know what to say.

Brody's After Party, Malibu. Kristin, She-Pratt and BS are lying on lounge chairs...drunk. They can't believe that JB didn't show up. Kristin says that she usually doesn't care about guys. But JB was different. Seriously?? Maybe Kristin missed the previous seasons of The Hills. He is so dirty. Brody and the rest of the boys show up. Brody tells Kristin that he had a fight with Jayde. Kristin says that it's because of her and that Brody's mom was "Team Kristin". Can you say "self-absorbed"? Kristin tries to pretend she's shocked that Jayde didn't come with Brody. Kristin fake apologizes to Brody that he's fighting with Jayde and that she didn't come with him. Brody says he loves Jayde to death. And that Love is a horrible horrible thing when it goes wrong. He proceeds to say that "this is the kind of thing that ends a relationship." Kristin is staring at him intently and I can't tell if it's because she's thinking of JB OR if she's thinking of going after Brody. Both are wrong.

Hokusai, Beverly Hills. Speidi are at dinner and Sponge Bob is wearing that ridiculous cowboy hat. Why? ("Take those ridiculous things off!") Heidi is thinking the same thing and asks if he's going to wear that thing everywhere. Apparently, he is. dumb. Then Heidi asks what Sponge Bob thinks they should get first and starts naming different pets. Sponge Bob makes a toast to babies not being on that list. Heh. Heidi tells Sponge Bob that he knew she wanted a big family and that he knew what he was marrying into. She also informs him that by her age, her mom had one baby and one on the way. Sponge Bob asks if "this is a marriage or a dictatorship?" Heidi says "BOTH", but she's kind of laughing so she knows Sponge Bob is actually the dictator.

She-Pratt's Apartment, Los Angeles. Audrina comes over and tells She-Pratt about Derek. Audrina tells She-Pratt that she really likes him. She-Pratt tells Audrina that JB stood Kristin up at Brody's party. Audrina says "good" and that she's "not surprised". They agree that Kristin has no idea. Audrina says "karma" and She-Pratt says that it's not even karma, it's just dating JB. True.

Kristin's house. Malibu. BS is sitting on the couch drinking what looks like a cosmo...hair of the dog. BS and Kristin talk about how Jayde and Brody fight all the time. BS says that Jayde does not like Kristin. Kristin thinks it's because she's "really close to Brody's mom". BS can't believe that Kristin and Brody aren't dating since they seem so perfect. Ooohhh...is this foreshadowing?? Then BS asks if Kristin has talked to JB yet? Kristin says no. BS asks Kristin if she's pissed. Kristin says that this is the kind of stuff he would do to Audrina over and over and over. AH...so she did watch the previous seasons. Interesting. Then BS asks if Kristin thinks this is what JB does to test girls. Kristin says maybe but Audrina put up with a lot of shit and Kristin isn't going to put up with it. She says she doesn't have time for the shit he pulled yesterday (i.e. not coming to Brody's party). "Strike One." HA! Let's see how many strikes he gets.

See you next week.

Amazing Race 15, Episode 4

The Globes are first to leave. Teams must now fly to Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Once there, they must find the Foreign Correspondence Club (FCC) and make contact with the Assignment Editor. Speaking in a whisper, they must ask for their next assignment to receive their next clue.

Next are the Blondes, the Farmers, Team USA (or Team Jungle Fever as they called themselves), Rainbow, Poker Chicks, Clueless, Besties and Lawyahs. The Globes and Blondes are frantically looking for a flight. They were told there are no flights that night, so they will have to leave the next day. BUNCHING!

Besties are having trouble pronouncing Phnom Penh, so they say they're going to Sean Penn, Cambodia. Heh. The Lawyahs tell us they are getting married when the race is over. Yikes.

The rest of the teams arrive at the airport and race to get tickets on the flight...TOMORROW. When the Lawyahs show up, the first flight at 12:25pm is full. Lawyahs and Besties will be on the waiting list for that flight and otherwise will be on the 2:15pm flight. So now...waiting.

Next day. The teams on the first flight are all excited that the Lawyahs and Besties are not on the flight. Meanwhile, Lawyahs and Besties are begging to get off the stand-by list and get on the flight. Commercial. When we come back Lawyahs and Besties are boarding the first flight. DOH! The other teams are PISSED. HA!

PHNOM PENH, CAMBODIA

The teams arrive and race to find a taxi to take them to the FCC. Besties make it into a cab first, followed by the Blondes and Rainbow. Besties make it there with the Blondes close by. Now the teams are all whispering to people asking them for their "next assignment". I guess any guy reading a newspaper with a hat is an "assistant editor". The clue says "This woman has a hotel suite named after her." Using only a black and white photo of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis standing on a convertible with King Sihanouk for reference, teams must figure out that their next destination is the Hotel Le Royal. Once there, they must find the photo and when they do, they'll receive their next clue. Besties ask their cabbie about the picture to figure out where Jackie O has a hotel suite named after her. The cabbie tells them it's the Hotel Le Royal.

Um...how does Rainbow not recognize Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis???? HELLO?? Who doesn't know who she is? They show the pic to the cabbie and he tells them that it's taken across the street from the Royal Hotel. They're off...even though they don't know who she is!! Dumb.

Back at FCC. Clueless doesn't get it. They are supposed to ask the Assignment Editor "May I have my next assignment?" Canaan keeps asking for the next "task" and they say NO! He FINALLY gets it. Jeez.

The Farmers didn't recognize Jackie O either!!! Oh wait...the dad got it. Clueless thinks it's Queen Elizabeth because Mika said "it's definitely someone of Cambodian descent. I mean, she looks like the Cambodian people". The Globes think it's "one of the queens from here." Rainbow thinks she's a queen or princess or something, too. COME ON, PEOPLE!!!

Besties are the first to arrive at the hotel and they get the next clue (and they knew it was Jackie).

DETOUR. Cover or wrap. In COVER, teams will locate the helmet stand and choose four helmets. Using their powers of persuasion, they will have to sell the helmets to a family of four (2 adults/2 kids) for $10. Once they return the money to the owner of the store, they will receive their next clue. In WRAP, teams must find the Russian Market and locate stalls 980 and 981. Once there, they will be handed an intricate silk scarf. They must then search the big and crowded market for a woman wearing the identical scarf. When they return both scarves to the shopkeeper, they will receive their next clue.

The Farmers and Team USA end up at the King's Palace. Oops...they're supposed to go to the Royal Hotel. They find a driver to take them to the Royal Hotel.

Besties, Rainbow, Globes, Blondes, Clueless, Poker Chicks, Team USA, and Farmers pick WRAP. Lawyahs pick COVER. PLEASE, let this be the end for them!

Besties get a purple scarf and start looking for it's match. It looks like they've enlisted the cabbie's help, too. They find the matching scarf and go get their next clue.

NEXT CLUE: Teams must now travel on foot to Wat Toul Tom Pong (it looks like a castle or palace or something) where they will search for their next clue.

Besties get the cabbie to drive to Wat Toul Tom Pong with the boys running behind him. HA!

Back at the Russian Market...teams are looking for their scarves. Rainbow, Team USA, Globes, find the match and get the next clue.

Lawyahs are at COVER.

Besties find the next clue at Wat Toul Tom Pong. MONKEY CHALLENGE!! WOO HOO! One team member must learn to be a monkey and "quite literally go bananas!" Awesome. Wearing a mask and a tail, the team member must perform 3 monkey tricks as taught to them by their Monkey Master. If they succeed, the Monkey Master will hand them their next clue. Zev is up for Besties!! He performs the first task and second task. Rainbow comes and joins them. They complete the first two tasks. Zev is frustrated, lays down and says he has no energy.

Rainbow is done and gets the clue to the next PIT STOP. Teams must find their way to Wat Phnom, a buddhist shrine and tallest building in the city, the next Pit Stop for this leg of the race.

Besties finish the monkey task and head to the pit stop. Big Easy (Globes) and Erika (Team USA) are doing the monkey tasks. They finish and head to pit stop.

Blondes and Farmers find their matching scarves and head to the monkey task. Meghan (Blondes) and Gary (Farmers) are doing the monkey task. They finish and head to the pit stop.

The Lawyahs find someone to buy their helmets and head to the monkey task. Keri will be doing the task.

Poker Chicks and Clueless find the matching scarves and go to the monkey task.

BESTIES (!!) are Team #1. Uh-oh...Besties lost their passports. NO!!! Unless they find their passports, they will be eliminated from the race! They find Justin's passport. They don't find Zev's. They have to go look and be back before the last team arrives. Rainbow is Team #1. Globes are Team #2.

Keri (Lawyahs) is doing the monkey task, while Lance yells at her. She tell him to SHUT UP! heh. Maria is doing the monkey task. Lawyahs head to the pit stop. ugh. Canaan (Clueless) is doing the monkey task.

Team USA is Team #3. Farmers are Team #4. Blondes are Team #5. Lawyahs are Team #6. Clueless is Team #7. Poker Chicks are Team #8. DAMMIT. Because Besties didn't find their passports in time, Poker Chicks made it and didn't get eliminated.

Besties are eliminated from the race. BOO!!!! SO lame. Ok, now I'm rooting for the Farmers. :(

RW/RR Challenge: The Ruins, Episode 2

The Champions are discussing the "Wes" issue. Wes is not trying to repair the damage, so they're back where they started. No one wants to compromise.

Apparently KA and Eve are BFF's. When did this happen? Ev is lying to KA. She's telling her that the girls on the Champions team are scared of KA. WTF?? Since when? Oh and Ev thinks that she and KA are in the same position because they are both the strongest women on their teams. (Ev's using "women" rather loosely. And, it's not hard to the be the best girl on the Challengers).

Johanna is trying to talk some sense into Wes asking him to be a team player. Wes feels misunderstood. Then the coversation moves to Wes parading around with KA - who Johanna does not like for some reason. I'll tell you the reason Johanna - she's clueless with fake boobs who is used to getting by on her looks. Even Wes gets that. He vents to KA and she just stares at him. All the serious DIALOGUES Wes has had have been with Johanna! Not that Johanna is a Rhodes Scholar, but she's smarter than KA. I digress.

Johanna acknowledges that Wes is hurt. He says that she was supposed to be the most important person in the world to him and right after they broke up, she f***** Kenny on National TV. OF COURSE, he's hurt. Johanna doesn't know what to say and decides that she's done trying to protect Wes and be his friend.

It's the night before the challenges and the Champions are strategizing. They've figured out that Wes isn't budging. Bananas interviews that KA is the closest thing Wes has to family at the challenge so now they're going after Wes's friends/family. Hmmm. Bananas asks Katie what she thinks about Ev and KA going into the Ruins. Katie thinks it's a good idea. She feels bad, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

CHALLENGE DAY.

Evan talks to Sarah and Casey to let them in on the plan. Ev vs. KA - the line up of the century.

First, nominations.
Champions: Derrick, Wes, Bananas, Katie, Susie, Ev
Challengers: Cohutta, Nick, Danny, Shauvon, Casey, KA

Wes approaches his team and says he'll throw himself in this time, but if they agree to rotate the 3 guys from here on out and pick names out of a hat, then he'll bust his ass this time. They agree (and then talk about how they just threw KA under the bus and have no intention of picking names out of a hat). heh.

The Game: Two platforms are separated by a fence suspended above the water. Team members must swing from one platform around the fence and land on the other platform. The landing platform is very narrow so team members must stay on. If you fall of at any point (while swinging or off the platform) you must swing again. The game ends when team members are ALL on the landing platform. It's a timed event - fastest time wins.

Champions get to sit out two players so the teams are even. They sit out Katie and Syrus.

Challengers: First up is Danny and he makes it. Next is Adam, then Brianna, then Brad, then Cohutta, then Nick, then KA, then Sarah, then Kimberly , then Dunbar. Next is Casey...she doesn't make it on the platform so she has to go again. This time with the guys' help, she makes it. Next is Shauvon. She's scared, but goes and falls off and does a total bellyflop. Danny is yelling at her to try again. She's telling him that she thinks she busted her implant. WHAT? This is awesome. You can't make this stuff up. It's just too good. The Champions are totally laughing. I mean, it's kind of sad, but seriously...she's totally out of shape (by her own admission), she's competing with girls who try hard and are in really great shape AND she's got these ridiculously HUGE fake boobs. She's just asking for it. She tries again and falls. So 11/12 made it. She's freaking out and is in serious pain. She's convinced she busted an implant. So she's taken away in an ambulance. KA is interviewing that she's heard of people busting implants and it makes her scared (as she laughs and holds her own implants). DUMB!

Champions: First up is Bananas, then Derrick, then Kenny, then Susie. Ibis goes and totally bangs into the fence and falls. She goes to the back of the line. Next up Veronica, then Darrell, then Wes, then Johanna, then Tonya, then Evan, then Ev, then Ibis again. 12/12.

Champions win. They get $20k to divide and a mobile webcam. Now they get to pick who goes in the Ruins.

Deliberation. Wes wants to go against Nick. Done. Now for the good part. Ev wants to go in against Casey. NOPE. They pick Ev and KA. Wes and Ev feel blindsided. Awesome. Wes is in Bananas face. Ev is PISSED and keeps bumping up against Bananas so he pushes her away. Then Wes yells that Bananas just pushed a girl! Seriously? If Bananas gets sent home for that...I don't even know. TJ comes in and they are still fighting so he makes the 6 of them vote right there. Obviously, it's Ev and KA. Ev and Wes decide that they are going to throw every challenge from here on out.

Wes runs in and yells at the Champions. He says "You just lost this challenge for yourselves because you have the 2 STRONGEST players really f****** PISSED." He's like a huge APE running around screaming. Ev is kicking shit. Kenny looks straight in the camera and flexes like an ape. Johanna: "Wes looks like a psychopath. And Evelyn kicking shit? Come on. Grow up."

Wes and Ev are sitting on the stairs and KA walks over to them. Wes tells KA and she laughs. Ev is having a freaking nervous breakdown. She's literally SOBBING. KA tries to pretend (in her interview) that she's outraged. I'm sensing she's a little embarassed. My guess is that KA is glad to be leaving and wants to start disassociating herself from Wes and Ev ASAP. I know I would. Wes busts into the Champions room and starts pointing at everyone. Ev is still hitting and kicking shit. Wes starts screaming at Bananas and interviews "the fact that I am more mad at Johnny than I am at Kenny just shows what a lowlife he is"... OR, it shows how desperately you need a psychiatrist, Wes. I'm guess it's the latter. Wes just keeps saying how much he wants to beat the crap out of Bananas. Seriously?? It's a GAME, people. AND, it's $120K DIVIDED BY THE GROUP. Even if it was $120K total for one person...STILL NOT WORTH IT. These people need jobs so they don't take this so seriously. Jeez.

Wes, Ev, and KA are all strategizing. Ev is thinking about throwing the Ruins. Now Ev thinks that the Champions are terrified of her. What is up with these people?? No one is scared of you guys. You're all suffering from delusions of grandeur.

Shauvon is back. Kenny is begging to see her boobs. Of course he is. So, Shauvon went to the emergency room and got a CT scan. She has major tissue, nerve and muscle damage. "From the top of my chest to my waist!" She's leaving. She has to be on bed rest. She goes around to everyone on the house retelling her emergency room story. It's actually kind of comical. Kim sums it up in her interview "Shauvon has this elaborate story. Just say you're going home and you have a bruise on your boob. Sorry. See you later." The Challengers are happy to see her go. She's was dead weight on that team.

Evan is seeing the error of the Champions ways. He sees that their plan was short-sided. The Champions thought that they could get rid of KA and it would show Wes that they were serious and he'd come back and play hard for them. No one expected Ev to join Wes and start throwing challenges.

Bananas is trying to pump up Nick and encourage him to beat Wes. Ev is wondering if she has it in her to lose the ruins.

RUINS
"Shadow Fighter" - Each player is going to have their wrists and ankles attached to their opponent by ropes. Each player will start at the front of their platform. The goal is to pull their opponent OFF their platform. Need to do it 3 times to win.

And, it's raining so the platform is slippery.

Wes v. Nick - Wes wins the first one. Wes wins the second one. Wes wins the third one. Wes is the winner. Nick goes home.

It stopped raining.

Ev v. KA - KA wins the first one. Ev wins the second one. Ev wins the third one. KA wins the fourth one. KA wins the fifth one. Ev goes home.

So, KA gets to stay AND she takes Ev's money. TJ is disappointed that Ev is a quitter. wow. She's super delusional because she believes KA would do the same for her. No way. KA looks out for number one. She's not that selfless.

Johanna and Wes are talking ... AGAIN. She's trying to find out if he's going to play to win or if he's going to keep throwing challenges. Then, she tells Wes "Let me make this easy for you. If you throw this whole challenge, I will sell the house and keep all the money because it's only in my name. So..." Interesting. So they bought a house "together" but it's in Johanna's name. HA! She says "You want to f*** me out of $30K, I will f*** you out of $300K". Oh dang! She leaves him with "I learned from the Master" and points to Wes and says "you sleep on that tonight." He interviews that she's a horrible person for threatening him that way. But, it looks like she's got him by the balls. Now he has to rethink his strategy.

Til next time.

The City, Season Two, Episode 15

Elle Magazine. Erin walks into Joe Zee's office to talk to him about the Today Show segment. He asks what happened and Erin tell him that she was willing to tell Olivia what she did right and what she did wrong, but Olivia said "If you don't like it, do it yourself". Joe isn't nearly as appalled as I would be...then again, he's got some hard-on for Olivia (even tho he is so gay). So, he asks if Erin thinks Olivia doesn't respect authority or doesn't like criticism or she doesn't understand what's going on. Erin says yes, yes and yes. Oh dang! She says that Olivia doesn't understand and she doesn't want to try to understand. Olivia doesn't want Erin to tell her what to do (which is a problem since Erin is her boss!!). Bottom line, Erin: "She's not a nice person, Joe." Joe wants to stand by his hiring decision and thinks that Olivia is still new. Basically, Erin, make it work. UGH. I can't wait to see what she does next!! :)

OPENING CREDITS.

"Working Girls"

People's Revolution, SoHo. Whitney is working in what appears to be a dress she wore in 3rd grade!! It's bright orange with some sort of weird green amoeba-looking pattern that barely covers her ass and has huge shoulder pads/puffed sleeves. Roxy walks in (wearing black, now that she can because she's in NYC). Whit tells her that they have a photo shoot today. Roxy looks around at everyone busy at work and calls them robots. Clearly this is one of those work environments where people come in, do their work, and go home. It's not nearly as social as Teen Vogue where LC and Whit were chatting all day...or Bolthouse where Heidi and Elodie were chatting all day ... or Smashbox where Audrina and Chiara chat all day. (Ok, I'm sad that I know all these random characters from seasons past and present on this show and The Hills - I am a vat of useless information). Whitney says that people keep to themselves. So Roxy yells "hello, I'm Roxy" and waves to the girl across the table from her. The girl looks up and says she's Michelle and then goes back to work. Whitney looks a little embarassed. Whitney tries to warn Roxy that Kelly will be on her case in the beginning and that you have to show that you work hard. Roxy kind of blows her off and says that she totally "gets" Kelly and that Roxy takes work totally serious. And, Roxy says she's not afraid of Kelly. You've been warned, Roxy. Few have survived Kelly Cutrone. Even our dear LC had a difficult time. I think Olivia should work at People's Revolution!! OMG, a Kelly/Olivia catfight would be AWESOME, no?? Who's with me?

Kelly walks in with Ali Fatourechi, Creative Director of Generic Denim. She introduces him to Roxy and Whitney. Kelly says that the model is really skinny and Ali says he's worried about the jeans looking right. So he asks Roxy AND Whitney (I think. I couldn't tell who he was looking at) to bring clips for the jeans. Kelly starts giving orders. First, she tells Roxy that Roxy is going to drive Kelly's car. She asks Roxy if she's ever driven in NYC and Roxy says no, but she's not worried. Then Kelly tells her to break up the rack and bring it. Parting words from Kelly "Don't F*** up my car. It's the only one I have and I pay $600/mo to park it, ok."

Elle Magazine, Midtown. Looks like a team meeting led by Joe. He's talking about the big Personal Style issue with Victoria Beckham. Olivia pipes up about knowing this great vintage store that she can pick looks from and Joe shoots her down. He says "That's something for Victoria, but not the everyday reader." Next. He tells Olivia that he wants her to work on this one. Erin tells her that they want a wide range of accessories and a lot to choose from. More is better. Why do I get this feeling that Olivia is going to come back with LESS??

Streets of NYC. Roxy and Whitney are in Kelly's car and Roxy is going to drive them to the shoot. They make it to the shoot without complication and start to unload the car/huge truck. (Ford Range Rover? I don't know. It's a Ford and looks like a Range Rover. Does Ford make those? Does it really matter? No.) They try to put the rack together on the sidewalk. Dumb girls. They finally make it up to the shoot. Kelly asks if they brought the clips. They did not, but Whitney thinks she has some in her bag, but she doesn't. Roxy picks a great look for the model and Kelly seems impressed. Then the model starts to "model" and Kelly says she's boring and tells her to move more. Roxy thinks that the shoot isn't edgy enough. She thinks the girl needs to lose the shirt entirely since it's a "jeans" ad. Whitney tells her to ask Kelly first. So, Roxy DOESN'T go to Kelly and just tells Ali that she thinks the girl should take her top off. Ali says it's a good idea and Kelly walks up and asks "What's a good idea?". They tell her and she agrees. She asks if it's Roxy's idea and then tells Roxy "next time you tell me before you tell my client. Good idea, though." Heh. Then Whitney says "the jeans fit perfectly" and Kelly says "you're just saying that because you forgot the clips, Whitney." Uh-oh. Move over, Whitney. There's a new pet in town.

Elle Magazine. Joe walks up to Olivia's and Erin's desks. He tells Olivia to go down to Canal Street and load up. He needs at least 10 handbags, scarves, watches. Olivia cuts him off and says she lives by there and police are shutting it down all the time so there isn't much stuff. Joe says "You'd be surprised. You can find things behind the curtains as well. Don't get arrested." He tells her he wants to run through it first thing in the morning. So Olivia gathers her stuff and Erin asks her if she has any questions. She says no, of course. Erin tells her to call if she needs anything. And, Olivia is off.

Marchesa Design Showroom, Chelsea. Samantha (Whitney's friend), an assistant buyer for Bergdorf Goodman and Sunni, a buyer for Bergdorf Whitney are looking at clothes. Whitney walks in and greets them both. Samantha asks Whitney how work is and Whit says that Roxy and Kelly seem to really get along because they are so much alike. She tells Sam about the shoot and how Roxy took over. Whit says in HS she was shy, quiet, nice and Roxy was always overpowering and Whit just let her take over. So, she thinks Roxy still sees her the same way and thinks Whit will let Roxy walk all over her. Whitney needs to find a way to show Roxy that she's not that little timid girl that she can walk all over. Hmmm. That's going to be kind of hard since she kind of still is that girl. We'll see.

Canal Street. Olivia is looking for accessories. I missed the part where they gave her a budget, but they must have because she's asks how much everything costs and then walks away. She finds a guy on the street who has designer purses. Then Olivia acts like they are doing some drug deal. She tells the guy to cross the street and walk with her as she looks around in an "is anyone watching us" sort of way. Ok, I've been to Canal Street. My friend and I actually bought "Prada" purses there. It was not scary at all. So I thought Olivia was being all shady and dramatic because he was going to show her actual purses. NO. She looks at PICTURES of bags and tells him which ones she wants. Jeez. He makes a call and she waits to see them. She looks at them and buys them, still on the look out for...cops? I'm not sure how many she bought. He had a large shopping bag, but they only filmed her looking at one bag.

People's Revolution. Roxy comes in and Whit is already there. Intern Tim asks how the shoot went and Roxy said she thought it went well. Whit agrees and says she hasn't seen Kelly to see how she feels about the no shirt thing. Whit also says that Kelly likes being in the leadership role with respect to giving ideas to clients. And Roxy rolls her eyes and says at least she gave her opinion and showed her passion rather than just standing around quietly. ZING!! Whitney says "we'll see" and then gets up. Roxy shoots her an annoyed look.

Elle Magazine. Olivia says she saw a lot of crap. She basically brought back two watches, two sunglasses and four bags. Erin says they need MORE. They have 8 models. Again, Olivia says "you can go down there. there's nothing." Joe walks in!! Olivia offers excuses to Joe immediately saying that nothing was good and this was all she could find. Joe said he was SURPRISED because he always sees a ton of stuff when he walks down there. Olivia explains that "up close" it looks terrible. So Joe looks over what she has. He likes the bags that she brought. BUT, he says he's concerned that they don't have enough and Erin confirms that they don't have any accessories or jewelry. yikes. Joe is visibly disappointed, but then walks outside with Erin and keeps defending Olivia. He says that he thought she did great. Erin, correctly, points out that they don't have enough stuff for the 8 models. Joe keeps saying that the stuff they do have is great. Joe says that it was a difficult task for Olivia. Erin keeps saying that she needed accessories and now she has nothing. Joe asks if she thinks it was really that much of a failure. Erin says she doesn't have a segment and she needs to deliver to the client or they won't use Elle again. Joe agrees and Erin says she'll have to change the whole segment. Joe says that from the specific products he saw, he thought Olivia did a good job. Erin just takes a deep breath. Ok, I think that Erin isn't really giving Olivia a fair shake and is entering every project expecting Olivia to fail. HOWEVER, I think Joe is obsessed with Olivia and thinks everything she does is great. Maybe Olivia put him under a spell. I really think deep down Joe knows Olivia f'ed up, but he doesn't want to fire her yet.

People's Revolution. Kelly walks in and wants to talk to Whit and Roxy about the shoot. She says that everything went ok except for the model. She thought the model was "a Brazilian snore" aka BORING. Roxy says that she loosened up after she took her shirt off. Kelly says "That's because you did a really good job." Roxy smiles. Oh Roxy, Kelly isn't finished. Kelly then says "That being said. I've been doing this 22 years. You've been doing it for 5 mintues. When I'm on a set, respect my authority." She first points out that she was pissed and embarassed that they forgot the clips for the jeans. So, they can't forget shit. Then, she turns directly to Roxy "The stuff you did with the model was fantastic. I'm mama wolf. This is MY company. You DO NOT go up to my client and make suggestions when I'm at a shoot. In the future, pass things by me. Alright." Roxy rolls her eyes and says "at least she liked it. It could be a lot worse." Whitney just puts her head in her hands.

See you next week...

The Hills, Season 5, Episode 512

Coupa Cafe. It appears that Kristin and Stacey the Bartender are friends now. This show is so random. They are having "lunch" and Stacey tells her that she's the first person she hasn't gotten into a fight with when they first met. And then she says that it would make her sad if they fought because they are both "bitches". As my friend Shannon would say, these girls were raised with entirely too much positive reinforcement. Kristin says that at some point she and Audrina need to talk. Stacey the Bartender ("Random") asks Why? Well, Kristin claims that she met up with JB just to tell him that they could only be friends. WHAT?? Hello? It's on film!! (See last paragraph of my last entry for a reminder). She thinks that it would be best if she and Audrina handle things like adults and figure it out. WHAT? Kristin wants to date Audrina's ex-boyfriend. What is there to figure out?? Kristin and Audrina are not friends. This is so dumb. I can't believe this isn't a show about kids in high school. I think this is what happens to people when they don't go to college.

OPENING CREDITS.

"Mess With Me, I Mess With You"

Confederacy, Los Angeles. Audrina and her sister, Casey, are shopping. Audrina tells her she got a text from Kristin and she wants to got to lunch...Audrina thinks it's to apologize. JB, however, is just trying to piss her off. Casey hits the nail on the head: "Justin's a douche." YES! Why can't anyone else comprehend this?? Move on people. He's disgusting! Audrina decides not to go to lunch with Kristin.

Speidi's House, Hollywood. She-Pratt comes over and is blown away by the home. Heidi is "adjusting" to it. Stephanie says that it's a "party house" which allows Heidi to jump in and call it a Bachelor pad. Bottom line, She-Pratt says "You can not have a kid in this house". Sponge Bob: "That's why I picked it." Why is this show filled with D-bag guys!?! Ok, I don't like She-Pratt, but she has totally pegged Speidi: "OMG. You guys are the most immature couple I have ever seen." YES, She-Pratt, they are. HAHA. It gets better. Heidi says she wants a kid to make Sponge Bob more mature. She-Pratt, again, correctly says "No, no, no, no, no. Cuz that's like a common mistake. Cuz like when relationships are bad, people think kids will make them better." ZING! Heidi defensively says that she and Sponge Bob have a "great relationship" they just need to add more to it to help them grow. Stephanie looks exasperated.

Lulu's Cafe, Los Angeles. Kristin and Lo are having lunch. WTF? They're friends? I'm so confused. Kristin tells Lo that she was supposed to have lunch with Audrina and Audrina just blew her off. heh. So Kristin tells Lo the same BS story about how she went to drinks with JB to tell him they're just going to be friends. Kristin says that JB just wanted to get to know her. Lo is not stupid and says "JB never called me for drinks to get to know me." heh. Then Kristin says that she's hurt Audrina didn't show up because she was putting herself out there. Whateves. Kristin's conclusion: "I probably should just go for Justin". Yes, that's the answer. Stupid. "You mess with me, I mess with you." GET AN EDUCATION!

Bleu Clothing, Los Angeles. Lo, She-Pratt and Audrina are shopping and talking about "fringe" - according to Stephanie "only as a vest". Good to know. Lo tells Audrina that she went to lunch with Kristin. Audrina was surprised to hear that Kristin actually thought that she'd show up. She-Pratt and Lo are surprised Audrina stood Kristin up. Audrina says that she didn't want to have lunch with Kristin so she didn't go. Good on ya, Audrina. So they are talking about Kristin and Lo says that Kristin is going to do whatever she wants. Audrina starts talking about the "girl code" again. This code section is different. It says that if you don't want to be friends with someone, you don't go out with their ex. Hmmm. Doesn't really sound right, but Audrina has appeared to have memorized the code. So she would know. She-Pratt tells the girls she needs something black to wear to Playhouse (a new club that's opening) and that Lo and Audrina have to come with her. Lo and Audrina are going to a showcase for a new band, Vedera, and encourage She-Pratt to come with them instead. She-Pratt finds out it's a girl band and says NO - because she's single.

Speidi's House, Hollywood. Heidi and Sponge Bob's neighbors stop by with their 4 y.o. (?) nephew Enzo who lives with them. They are engaged and immediately, Heidi offers to babysit if they go out of town. Sponge Bob looks like he's about to explode. Enzo asks if they have video games and Heidi tells him that Sponge Bob has every kind of video game Enzo could want. Enzo's guardians tell her not to tell him that (I guess the kid is obsessed with video games). HAHA. Enzo calls Sponge Bob, SPENDER, and asks "Spender" to play video games with him. The neighbors take off.

Sponge Bob goes inside with Heidi and he's actually freaked out. He says that he doesn't even recognize Heidi and that she's nothing like the girl he married. "Why would I want to hang out with a 6 year old kid?" Heidi: "To help someone out." Hmmm. Sponge Bob: "PLEASE don't ever volunteer me to babysit ever again. Thank you. Love you." Well, he has a point. He's clearly not into the kid thing and Heidi is never going to get him "into" it if she keeps shoving it down his throat. It's just going to piss him off. Get over it Heidi. He doesn't want kids right now. Either 1) wait a few years for him to change his mind, 2) accept that he may never change his mind and give up the idea of having kids, or 3) divorce him and find someone with the same values and goals who will respect you and your opinions. I vote for number 3, but who am I?

Vedera Showcase, Smashbox Studios. Audrina's co-worker shows up with the band and Lo and Audrina greet them backstage.

Playhouse, Hollywood. She-Pratt is at the opening with Brody, Jayde, Frankie, JB and Kristin. JB is totally clean-shaven. Hmmm, he looks less dirty, but he's still a douche. Jayde "can't stand" Kristin and looks pissed that she's there. Kristin tells JB that she's glad they went to drinks so that she could "get to know him" and that she's impressed. Dumb.

Vedera Showcase. Audrina tells the band that the crowd is ready for them to start. They are actually really good.

Playhouse...or Cirque de Soleil. Weird acrobats are contorting in the air. JB and Kristin are dancing (she's got a beer bottle in her hand...classy. Don't want to let that go.) She tells him that they can't base anything on what they hear about each other...just on what they know from one another. She threatens "If you f*** with my trust. I will cut you off so f***** fast." JB responds "I have nothing to hide anymore." What a way to start a "relationship.

Vedera playing in the background as Audrina looks on thoughtfully/sadly (?) and JB and Kristin are totally making out at Playhouse (She-Pratt is totally watching them).

Speidi's House. Heidi is babysitting Enzo and he's playing Wii Tennis. She asks him if he wants some snacks and he says he likes "cookies". Smart kid. (he's totally only 4, no way he's 6). Sponge Bob comes home and Enzo has learned how to properly say "Spencer". He's excited to tell Sponge Bob that he just hit the ball "super fast". Cute. Sponge Bob looks PISSED. He looks at Heidi and says "Are you kidding me?" while glancing at Enzo. Heidi just tells him to move aside because he's blocking Enzo's game. Sponge Bob: "Are you going to pay for this when he drops the remote or breaks something?" Heidi: "Take a chill pill." Sponge Bob tells Enzo it's time to go back to his mommy. Heidi keeps encouraging Enzo to keep playing. Sponge Bob walks over and turns off the Wii as Heidi yells "Spencer, don't you dare." Then he tells Enzo to go back next door while he talks to his wife. Wow. What an ass. I get it, he doesn't want kids, but that doesn't mean Heidi can't babysit. Jeez. As Enzo's walking out, Sponge Bob hands him some cookies and says "here are your cookies complements of the free babysitter. Say good-bye to Heidi forever." OMG. He's ridiculous. I do not understand how Heidi could put up with him for 5 minutes. Yikes.

Sponge Bob walks back in and Heidi thanks him for ruining her day. He does the same. She's going about this the wrong way. She's focusing on Enzo being so cute and why can't Sponge Bob see that. What she should be focusing on is that SHE agreed to babysit and she has a right to do that. Sponge Bob can't dictate what Heidi does...or maybe he can and that's why she didn't take that angle. Sponge Bob says he doesn't need to find Enzo cute. That's why he's not a parent. He can barely stand adults much less kids. He's got a point there. He says "Imagine if I did what you asked me not to do." Heidi says "YOU DO. All the time." heh. She's right, but she just takes it. You made your bed, Heidi.

Chaya, Venice. She-Pratt and Audrina are having lunch and asking each other about the showcase and Playhouse. She-Pratts drops the bomb. She saw JB and Kristin making out. Audrina is sad. She doesn't think it will last because they are both playing each other.

Kristin is riding on JB's motorcycle and they go to Neptune's Net on the beach. Ok, Kristin should really be watching The Hills because even MTV knows that JB is Audrina's ex-boyfriend (and not some random ex-non-exclusive hook-up thing). Kristin says she's had fun on JB's "motorcycle". She asks if she can have the helmet and he says "No way! I gotta save that thing to see if Audrina wants it back." He's such a jokester. LOSER. Of course, Kristin thinks it's funny and calls JB a game player. He says "I play games and you're a liar." Oh, snap. He's referring to her "We're just friends" speech. She claims she HAD to say that but then says she felt that it was the right thing to do. Whatever. They both do this flirty thing where they claim the other is more into them. They agree to have fun and hang out no matter what anyone says. This will not end well.

And they ride off into the ... traffic on Pacific Highway.

Amazing Race 15 - Episode 3

Teams are all taken on the Bassic III Riverboat to My Tho, Vietnam - unbeknownst to the teams. When the boat arrives, the Farmers are the first to depart.

Teams will travel by taxi to Ho Chi Minh City. Once there, they will search for the Golden Dragon Water Puppet theater where they will have to grab the clue from the dragon puppet's mouth as it swims around.

The Farmers talk about how difficult it is to let go of one's son and to be the son who wants freedom. SO CUTE. Rainbow is next and they tell us that they are brothers and gay, but VERY different. Sam is laid back and chill and Dan is a whiny complainer. Globes are next and Big Easy tells us that he just lost his father two days before the race. Last time he saw him, his dad told him to win the race and that's what Big Easy is here to do.

Next to leave...Lawyahs (UGH!). Lance "lets" Keri lead but tells her not to waste too much time. He totally bitches at her when she's taking the lead, but as soon as she gives the lead back to him, he says "I don't know where we're going." Jackass. Besties(!!) are next to head out, followed by the Blondes and the Poker Chicks. They all get cabs to Ho Chi Minh City. Next to leave the boat are Clueless, Seniors and Team USA. Marcy (Seniors) tells us that it's emotional for her to be in Vietnam because her father was shot down in Vietnam in 1968 and rescued.

The Globes arrive at the Water Puppet theater and they each take turns trying to grab the clue. They finally do and they pull out a small bullet-looking container. All it had was a stamp with a building on it. That's it.

Teams must now figure out that they are looking for the building on the stamp - the Post Office in Ho Chi Minh City - where they will find their next clue.

Globes figure it out and ask someone who tells them it's the post office. They hop in a cab and take off.

The Farmers arrive next and figure it out right away. Someone tells them it's the post office and they decide to run it since it's only 1 km. Next up is Rainbow and they figure it out and look for a taxi.

Meanwhile, the Globes arrive at the post office and find the next clue: DETOUR. In this detour the teams will decide between Child's Play or Word Play. In Child's Play, teams go to a local park and choose a large concrete animal from a kiosk. They must transport their large and awkward animal through the park while collecting 5 balloons along the way. When they reach the children's playground, they receive the next clue. In Word Play, teams head to the observation deck of a hotel where they will scan the crowded intersection below. They will need to find 6 Vietnamese letters moving in the traffic and bring the 6 letters to an individual. When they have the correct 6 letters, they will need to go out and ask people to unscramble them until they find the right word (DOC LAP - the Vietnamese word for Independence). When they have the right word, they will receive the next clue.

The Farmers find out that the post office is further than 1km, so they hop in a cab. The Globes choose Child's Play and select a concrete ram and take off.

The Blondes get the clue from the Water Pupper theater and figure it out. The Poker Chicks and Rainbow and Seniors were all there getting the clues and they all figured out that they needed to find the building on the stamp. Lawyahs get the stamp and Lance starts yelling at Keri for "losing" the clue. They don't get it. He keeps yelling at her to find the clue. HA! After a while, they FINALLY figure it out.

Clueless finally gets to the theater and dance for the dragons - they think that will help them get the clue. Hmmm. It works and they're off just as Team USA arrives. They figure it out and take off.

Besties, Farmers, and Blondes all choose Child's Play. Seniors choose Word Play. Poker Chicks and Rainbow both pick Child's Play. Globes find the last balloon and head to the playground. The Blondes pick the concrete sheep and start collecting balloons.

Globes get the next clue. Teams will now head to Dien Co 008 where they'll find the next clue.

Clueless and Team USA find the clue box at the post office with the greatest of ease...just like the rest of the teams. Lawyahs both run inside the post office and when they come out and see it, Lance yells at Keri for not noticing it sooner. He's a gem. Maybe they should be "clueless". All three of those teams pick Child's Play. Seniors are the only team to pick Word Play and they are having trouble with the 6 letters. They got 5/6 correct.

Poker Chicks pick a concrete wolf, Rainbow picks a concrete deer, Farmers pick a concrete zebra, and for some reason, Besties pick a concrete giraffe (???). And wouldn't you know, as they are carting the giraffe, it tips over and an ear breaks off. They need to pick up all the pieces so that they can continue.

Team USA arrives and pick a concrete zebra...because they are black and white like Team USA. Nice. Lawyahs pick a deer and the Blondes finish and head to the next clue. The Seniors find the 6 letters so now they need to find someone to tell them what it says. Farmers and Rainbow finish and take off. Clueless picks an elephant. Team USA gains some ground and finish fifth. Next to finish are Poker Chicks and Besties (!). The Lawyahs finish...but not without Lance yelling at Keri some more. Clueless finishes and takes off.

Globes arrive at the next stop and pick up the clue: ROADBLOCK. In this roadblock, one team member must breakdown a VCR COMPLETELY and put the various parts into separate piles. When the VCR has been completely disassembled and the parts sorted, the team will receive their next clue.

The Globes decide that Flight Time will do the task. The Blondes arrive next and Cheyenne will do it since Meghan "can't build things". Farmers come next and the son does it (because he's taken apart VCRs before out of curiousity).

Meanwhile, the Seniors are trying to figure out what the letters spell.

The Globes finish and head to the next pit stop: The Reunification Palace.

Team USA arrives and Brian will be breaking down the VCR. Sam from Rainbow will disassemble for his team. The Blondes and Farmers finish and take off for the pit stop. The Globes have trouble trying to find a cab and finally find one as the Blondes find one, too. FOOT RACE! Seniors finish Word Play and head out. The Poker Chicks arrive and Tiffany will be disassembling. Rainbow finishes and head to the pit stop.

FOOT RACE. Globes and Blondes are running to the pit stop. Cheynne makes it, but Meghan is behind. GLOBES are first. They win a trip for 2 to Aruba!!! Blondes take second.

Justin of Besties is disassembling as well as Canaan. Lawyahs get out of their cab too early and end up having to take another cab to the clue. He continues to yell at Keri and she tells him to stop yelling at her. In the cab, Lance apologizes for taking out his frustration on Keri. He's still a d-bag.

Farmers are third. Team USA is fourth.

Lawyahs finally arrive and Lance will be disassembling. The Poker Chicks are done.

Rainbow is fifth.

Keri of Lawyahs is cheering Lance on and her voice is SO ANNOYING. Clueless heads to the pit stop. Lawyahs finish and head to the pit stop followed by Besties. Seniors finally arrive and Ron is disassembling.

Poker Chicks are sixth. Clueless is seventh.

Even though Seniors are last, Marcy is so supportive. She just keeps cheering Ron on. They seem so happy and just enjoying themselves.

FOOT RACE. Besties and Lawyahs are fighting to not be last. They forgot about the Seniors. Besties are eighth. Lawyahs are ninth.

Seniors are last and ... have been eliminated from the race. They were so sweet about being eliminated and grateful for the opportunity to be in Vietnam. Sad.

See you next week!

Amazing Race 15 - Episodes 1 & 2 (Season Premiere)

Meet the Teams (and my nicknames):

Meghan/Cheyne: This team from San Diego have been dating for 5 years...typical blonde, blue-eyed athletic types. Let's see if they live up to their nickname. ;) ("Blondes")

Maria/Tiffany: These mid-20's friends from LA are Professional Poker Players...this should be interesting. ("Poker chicks")

Marcy/Ron: The token "Senior" couple from SF (who met online) have been dating for one year. Let's go SF!! ("Seniors")

Lance/Keri: Engaged couple from Massachusetts. Something tells me he's going to be the guy everyone hates. He kind of looks like a meathead and he's a lawyer...nothing good can come of this. ("Lawyah Team")

Herbert and Nathaniel: Globetrotters!! Wow! Are the Globetrotters still around?? Apparently. Let's see how these guys do. ("Globes")

Gary/Matt: The Father/Son farmer couple from Montana. SWEET! Matt has pink hair...they are going to be awesome! ("Farmers")

Garrett/Jessica: The On/Off couple. They're from SF/Santa Cruz and have been dating on/off for SEVEN YEARS. I smell DRAMA. ("Drama")

Brian/Ericka: First interracial married couple from Tennessee. She was Miss America 2004 and he's kind of boring. Hmmm. ("Team USA")

Eric/Lisa: Married yoga instructors from Encino. Yeah....I don't know. ("Team Zen"??) I'll think of something better.

Sam/Dan: Hot gay brothers!! It feels offensive to call them the "gay team" so I think I'll just call them "Rainbow".

Zev/Justin: Best Friends from LA. Zev has Asperger's Syndrome so we'll see how he'll get along with all the teams. ("Besties")

Mika/Canaan: The virgin, Christian, newly dating couple from Tennessee. Oh lord...here we go! ("Clueless")

Those are the teams. Let's get the first episode started!!!

Phil tells us that it's early morning in downtown Los Angeles. The starting line is at the Los Angeles River, which one may recall from a certain drag race in GREASE!!! Welcome teams!! Phil tells the teams that their first clue is on their bags. Ready, set, GO!!!! Errr...or NOT. There's an instant surprise...the first challenge is at the start line! NO.

"For the first time ever...one team won't even make it past the start line". YIKES. GO! Everyone runs to the clue. Ok, the teams will be flying to Tokyo, but FIRST the teams must search the wall of nearly 1,000 license plates for the one (of only ELEVEN - get it? Twelve teams!) from the Shinagawa district of Tokyo, their first destination. The teams who find the correct license plate will receive a ticket to Tokyo. The team who does not...will be ELIMINATED. GASP!!!

Smart teams will notice a Japanese symbol at the top of their clue and look for the license plate with that symbol. Needless to say, no one picks up on that...for awhile. All teams frantically search for...well, they have no idea what they're looking for so they are randomly picking license plates. All the license plates have some sort of Japanese symbol, but since this group isn't so bright, they don't know which symbol they're looking for. I find myself trying to refrain from yelling at the television for the teams to LOOK AT THE CLUE! I totally would have caught that. I should be on the amazing race. ;) FINALLY, Justin - of the Besties - notices the Japanese symbol on the clue. Other teams pick up on it as well and the Poker Chicks are in the lead heading to LAX, followed by the Seniors and the Blondes. I'm thinking of changing the Blondes to the Athletes, but I'm not sure yet. For Episode 1, they will remain the Blondes. OK, the rest of the teams follow and we're left with Team Zen and Lawyah Team (who I will now rename "Lawyahs". I know Keri is not a lawyah, but she hasn't said a word yet and Lance keeps talking about his lawyah skills helping him in this race...hmmm). These four scholars finally look at the clue again and see the symbol. Now it's a race to find the remaining license plate. And the plane ticket goes to ... Lawyahs!!! The first team eliminated is Team Zen and, as expected, they are very "zen" about it. Being first means they took the shame and the pain from the other teams and "set them free". F'ing hippies.

As the Lawyahs are heading to the airport, Lance rants that he can't believe they almost got eliminated then quickly blames Keri, "You were the one who was supposed to read the clue." D-bag. Meanwhile, at the airport, the Poker Chicks are off to a shady start. They are telling everyone they work for an organization that deals with homeless kids in LA. SHADY!!! They think that the others won't help them if they know they make "a lot of money" playing poker. Bad karma.

First plane to Tokyo: Poker Chicks, Seniors, Blondes, Farmers, Globes, and Besties. The second flight: Rainbow, Clueless, Drama, Team USA and Lawyahs.

Once the teams arrive in Tokyo, they must take a taxi to a radio station at the base of the Tokyo Tower.

TOKYO, JAPAN

First plane arrives and frantic running to the shuttle ensues. The first 5 teams make it to the shuttle leaving the Poker Chicks behind to argue about nothing. The second plane arrives (30 minutes early!!) The teams are all racing to get taxis and head to the Tokyo Tower. The Poker Chicks don't have their gaydar on because they are eager to flirt with the "hot guys" aka Team Rainbow. All the teams are in taxis and for Christians, team Clueless is blaspheming all over my television!

NO WAY!! The teams arrive at the Tokyo Tower and run into a studio where a Japanese game show is being filmed in front of a studio audience. RAD! The audience is cheering like crazy and wearing visors. Clueless arrives first, followed closely by Rainbow and the Blondes. Ok, I just caught the name of the game show. SUSHI ROULETTE. This is going to be awesome. The Seniors and the Farmers come next and now teams are jumping up and down and cheering. Now come Team USA and the Globes and Drama and the Poker Chicks. This looks like a bunching challenge. (For those new to the Amazing Race, sometimes the challenges are set up to allow all the teams to "bunch" and start equally again.) The Besties come next and last, but not least, are the Lawyahs. All the teams are standing around a circular table with big pieces of fake sushi in the center.

Roadblock. One of the team members must compete in a game of Sushi Roulette. The host will spin the "wheel" ...er, table containing 9 sushi rolls and 2 wasabi rolls (basically-rolls filled with wasabi). Each person will have to eat what is in front of them and continue playing until they receive a wasabi roll. When they receive a wasabi roll, they have 2 minutes to eat the whole thing in order to receive their next clue. I would HATE this challenge.

The first round goes to Cheyenne of the Blondes and Ron of Seniors. OMG. The audience is out of control. They are chanting and making faces. It's awesome. A cartoon of a fire-breathing dragon runs across the screen. I love Japanese game shows. Insanity. Ok, so the guys finished in 2 minutes so the Blondes and Seniors got their clues.

Next Clue. Teams are given a colored flag and must take the 20 audience members wearing the same colored visors as their flag. Then, they must lead these 20 "tourists" through the "infamously overcrowded Shibuya Scramble Crossing" to the pit stop at the Konno Hachimangu Shrine. This is clearly one of those challenges where no one speaks English and the teams have no idea where the shrine is. The Blondes lead followed by the Seniors.

Back at Sushi Roulette. Next up for wasabi are Garrett of Drama and Justin of Besties.

Shibuya Scramble Crossing. The Blondes' strategy is to ask every Japanese person in the Shibuya Scramble Crossing where the shrine is until someone understands what they are saying and points them in the right direction. I want to say that it's a dumb strategy, but really, what else are they supposed to do? Right? Marcy of the Seniors is going crazy with the megaphone. She turned into a cheerleader all of a sudden and has the tourists shouting "Blue Blue Blue" in Japanese. Oh good Lord, who gave this woman a harmonica?! I have no idea if they know where they're going, but Marcy has them skipping and chanting. wow.

Justin finishes first and the Besties are off and Drama follows. With only 7 teams left, Maria is the only one who gets the next wasabi roll.

The Blondes find a random Japanese tourist (? - I don't really know for sure, but she had a camera) who speaks English to accompany their to the shrine. The Seniors locate a map, but seem to have trouble using it to help them find the shrine. Meanwhile, Besties have no trouble at all finding an American who sends them on track to the shrine.

OH NO! Maria didn't finish the wasabi roll in 2 minutes, so she has to keep playing and eat another wasabi roll. That sucks. The roulette wheel spins and the wasabi roll lands on ... MARIA!! HOLY CRAP. She looks at Tiffany and says she can't do it again...

The Blondes are still looking with their "tourist". The Seniors finally catch on and start asking people for help. And the Besties continue to lead their team while soaking in the scene. Zev seems fixated on one of the team members who has an issue with her shoe. She continues to wave and smile at the camera, so I'm guessing it's bugging Zev more than it's bugging her.

Back at the game. Will Maria eat the second wasabi roll?? YES! Does she finish in time?? YES!! WOOT! The Poker Chicks take their team out to find the shrine.

And...the Blondes are the first to make it to the shrine and the PIT STOP for this leg of the race. They get a trip for two to Aspen AND Vail. Nice.

Next up for wasabi: Lance of the Lawyahs and Big Easy of the Globes. They both make it in 2 minutes. The Globes head out followed by the Lawyahs.

The Besties come in second place on the mat.

Canaan of Clueless is next to take on the wasabi roll. He makes it and Clueless heads out with their team. Next up are Gary of the Farmers and Brian of Team USA. Uh-oh, party foul. Brian can't take it and spits it out after only 20 seconds. THEN, he eats it again...GAG! I seriously might throw up right now. Sick. The Farmers make it and take off with their team. Oh dang! Brian didn't getter done. That sucks. Now he has to wait and do it AGAIN. I'm not sure I can watch. His gagging and spitting up is getting to me. Ooooh...Miss America is PISSED.

The Lawyahs are third to the pit stop.

Dan of Rainbow is up next for the wasabi roll. He swallows it in 40 seconds and Rainbow is off. Brian is last to go for the second time. Miss America is having no sympathy: "I should have done this challenge". Way to be supportive.

The Poker Chicks still have everyone fooled. They team up with Rainbow to find the shrine. Rainbow thinks the girls are cool since they work for a non-profit helping homeless kids. Heh.

Despite time running out, they threw him a bone and Brian was able to finish and Team USA is off.

The Seniors are fourth to the pit stop and the Globes are fifth.

Drama hits a snag. One of their tourists needs to go potty, so they have to take a break.

Team USA caught a lucky break (i.e. found someone to take them to the shrine) and are sixth to the pit stop. The Farmers follow closely and are seventh to the pit stop.

Meanwhile, the Poker Chicks lose two of their tourists. Immediately, Maria blames Tiffany for not keeping track. I think this is a pattern for Maria. She's kind of a pain in the ass and moody as hell.

Despite the potty break, Drama is team number eight. Rainbow comes in at number nine. OH SHAP! Clueless shows up...BUT, they are missing one tourist. They go out and FIND HER. Poor thing is exhausted so Canaan carries her to the mat. Tenth.

The Poker Chicks give up on finding the 2 missing tourists and head to the pit stop. Phil informs them that they will incur a 2 hour penalty for not completing the challenge BUT this is a NON ELIMINATION LEG so they are not eliminated. Lucky break. Bad news that there will be a speed bump somewhere in the next leg that only the Poker Chicks will have to complete. No biggie, they're still in.

EPISODE 2

The Blondes are the first to depart at 12:19am. The teams must now fly to Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. When they land, they will need to take a shuttle for 2 hours to the rural village of Cai Be. From there, they will search for a boat dock to receive their next clue.

All the teams are heading to the airport and looking for the internet to book their tickets. Ok, least favorite team right now...the Lawyahs. She's not so bad, he's a total asshat. He's so condescending to his fiance. I hope he makes a shit ton of money, Keri...otherwise, dump his ass. I'm just sayin'. "We're here to win this competition, not to find ourselves. Here, look here's my arm. I just found myself." Dumbass.

Rainbow decides that they will keep their sexual orientation a secret so that they can continue to flirt with all the girls to gain their trust. Hmmm. Clueless explains how important their virginity is and that they like each other "for the right reasons". Hmmm. Again, the Poker Chicks comment on how they will keep their profession a secret because no one will want to help the "rich, successful poker chicks". Rich? Really? I'm outta the poker loop.

Everyone is trying to get tickets to the earliest flight out. "As a lawyah, I'm cutthroat." UGH! Least.Favorite.Team. Everyone appears annoyed the Poker Chicks were just given a speed bump in this leg rather than getting sent home. (btw - all of the airport workers are wearing masks. I can only assume it's to prevent swine flu? UGH.) Everyone manages to get on the flight. BUSTED! Two randoms in the airport RECOGNIZE the Poker Chicks and call them out. What? They're famous? Wow, I really am out of the loop. So now they are like the social lepers of the race. Everyone is pissed that they lied about their profession and no one likes them....everyone, that is, except team Rainbow. The Poker Chicks have a feeling that the Rainbow boys are gay, but they neither confirm nor deny so the girls continue to flirt.

All the teams fly to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. At the airport, the Poker Chicks climb into Rainbow's cab/van and ask to share a ride to the bus station. Rainbow totally calls them out: "Poker. Poker. Poker. Poker." The girls just laugh and say "you are so cute." Dumb. Ok, the teams are now frantically trying to get bus tickets and take off to the next destination. On the first bus: Poker Chicks, Rainbow, Clueless, Seniors, and Globes. One the second bus: Team USA, Besties, Drama, Farmers and the Blondes. The first bus takes off and the teams on the second bus get together and pay the driver of the second bus to take off sooner (originally, they were to leave 1 hour later). The second bus takes off and Zev of the Besties notices that the bus driver doesn't have a jacket and it's pouring rain outside. So, Zev gives him his jacket. Ok, new favorite team: Besties.

BUNCHING!! The first bus arrives at the dock and it's closed until the next day. I bet the people on the second bus are feeling pretty stupid that they paid all that money to leave early just to get to the dock and...wait. HAH!

The Poker Chicks interview that they don't like the Besties because they aren't giving off the "warmest vibe". Whatever. I love the Besties. HELLO?? Zev has Asperger's ... he's not going to run up and give you a hug. Stupid. The Besties didn't get the memo that the girls are poker players, but have observed that the girls don't seem like they work at a homeless shelter. They already picked up that the girls are "shady". Nice work, Besties.

OK, I don't like the Poker Chicks, but the fact that they don't fully believe Lance is a lawyah because he's a "meathead", makes me dislike them a little less.

Next day. Teams must now get on a boat at the dock and head to the mud pits. There, they will need to scoop mud from the mud pit and pack it around a tree up to the red line on the trunk. When they've completed the task, they will be given their next clue.

SPEED BUMP: Before the Poker Chicks can head out on their boat, they need to complete another task. They will need to learn to make pho from a woman selling soup, take the ingredients with them to the dock and prepare the pho for the dock master to his liking. Once completed, they may continue on. They do it. It's great. Onto the boat...

Everyone is scooping mud and packing it on the roots of the trees. Some hilarity ensues when the teams get stuck in the mud. And the locals laughing their asses off at the Americans slipping in the mud is hysterical.

The Blondes finish first and get the next clue. Teams must now travel to the Cai Be Field where they find their next clue. Drama is second, followed by Team USA, the Farmers, the Globes, Rainbow, Seniors, Lawyahs, Besties and Clueless. The Poker Chicks are the only ones left. Getting on the boat, Justin (Besties) falls into the water. After climbing in and heading back to the dock, neither Justin nor Zev can find the clue. They turn around and go back. They find it right away and head to the docks - just as the Poker Chicks finish.

The Blondes make it to Cai Be where a festival is in progress. In Vietnam, farmers use hungry ducks to rid their rice patties of nasty insects. ROAD BLOCK. Teams must learn how to get and keep "all their ducks in a row" ... literally. One team member will join the festivities and, using only flags as their guides, lead a flock of 150 ducks from their pen, across a bridge and back again and return them to their pen...in 10 minutes!! If they don't make it in time, they give up their spot and will have to wait to try again.

Blondes are up first and Meghan will be doing the task. She starts by saying "come on, monkeys". No, Meghan, they are DUCKS. Drama comes next and Jessica will be doing the task. Her supportive on/off bf, Garrett whining "hurry up, come on, jessie" before she even starts. That doesn't not bode well for team Drama. Team USA comes up third and Miss America will be duck herding for her team. The Farmers (Matt), Globes (Flight Time) and Rainbow (Sam) come next. [Ok, I don't mean to sound culturally insensitive, but the music/singing from the Vietnamese band sounds horrible...no harmony, no melody, just bad.] These roadblocks are the best. The team members who are NOT participating in the task think it looks so easy and they all just yell out directions. Herding a flock of 150 ducks does not look easy at all. These guys need to CHILL OUT. Meghan and Jessie are having a rough time keeping their flocks together. It seems all that time on the farm in Montana has served Matt well as his task appears to be going smoothly. Rainbow is doing well also. Next come Seniors (Marcy) and Clueless (Mika).

Meghan and Jessie's time has expired and now they each have to wait for an available course. Rainbow completes the task first!! Teams must now race on foot to Cho Cai Be and find the Bassac III Riverboat, the next PIT STOP!! Rainbow takes off.

The Farmers are next to leave for the pit stop. Miss America's time has expired. Besties and the Poker Chicks (Tiffany - who apparently had ducks as a child. Weird.) finally arrive. At some point the Lawyahs arrived and Keri is doing the herding (Lance is already disappointed in her performance. D-bag). Well, she comes through despite her lame partner. The Globes are next and the Lawyahs follow. Zev is awesome. He sees all the teammates screaming and freaking out. He is doing the herding, but Justin quietly looks on. Apparently Zev's calm nature earns him the nickname, "Duck Whisperer". Cheesy, but since I like this team, I'm going to let it go. Meghan is back at it for her second attempt at herding the ducks. The Blondes seem to have taken notes from the Besties and are taking it "Nice and Calm". It appears to be working for them. Jessie (Drama) and Miss America are also on their second attempt. Garrett (Drama) is backing off and not yelling at Jessie, while Brian of Team USA is still trying to micro-manage Miss America (not that she'd listen to him...it's clear she wears the pants in that marriage. Ain't no way she's taking directions from him).

Mika's (Clueless) time expired and she's about ready to cry. Canaan's motivational speech: "We could get eliminated. You can do this. You need to try harder!!! You're not even running!" Very motivating.

Meanwhile on the way to the pit stop, Rainbow is having some team conflict. Both brothers want to be the leader and they are getting lost in the process. The Farmers seem to found their way...just as the Globes and Rainbow find theirs. Team number one is...

THE FARMERS are the first to the pitstop. (ok, I totally teared up. Here's this simple farmer dad going on the Amazing Race with his pierced, tatooed, pink-haired son. And they make it FIRST to the pit stop and they jump around hugging each other. SO AWESOME. The dad just loves his son. They might be tied for my favorite team with the Besties.) They have each won a kayak and the son says that they're going fishing together! OMG. LOVE.

Rainbow comes in second and the Globes are third. Damn. The Lawyahs are fourth. I guess they can be my least faves for another week (along with the Poker Chicks...I don't know why I don't like them, they just bug).

Zev finishes herding and Besties (!) head out to the pit stop. Apparently having ducks as a child helped Tiffany out and the Poker Chicks are off to find the pit stop. Meghan finally makes it on the second attempt and the Blondes are heading out. Canaan is still screaming at Mika, but despite his yells, she finishes and Clueless heads out. Marcy finishes up for the Seniors and they head out. (I totally forgot about the Seniors. They must have been boring because they have not been filmed since they left the mud pits!) So the only teams left herding the ducks are Team USA and DRAMA. I'm secretly - or not so secretly - rooting for Drama. Team USA is boring and predictable. He's pretty weak and she's going to dominate his ass this whole time. I feel like Drama will have more interesting stuff going on. Let's find out...

Time expires for Jessie on her second attempt. Brian is yelling at Miss America and she yells back "This is not easy, Brian. Don't you DARE get disappointed in me!" You tell him! Hee hee. OK, maybe I want Team USA to stay now. I love how Brian tries to assert himself and Miss America just cuts him off. HA. Time expires for Miss America. Jessie and Miss America try for their third attempt.

The Besties (!) are next to the pit stop coming in fifth. The Blondes finally come in sixth followed closely by the Poker Chicks (boo) in seventh. Clueless is eighth and the Seniors are ninth (GO SF!!).

Now we're just waiting to see who will come in last and who may go home. Jessie and Miss America are still herding away. Miss America finally finishes with a "I'm eating duck for dinner." Nice. And Team USA is off to the pit stop. Jessie finishes right after and it's a race for last place. And the winner is....

Team USA comes in tenth. Jessica and Garrett (DRAMA) get eliminated. Garrett is totally pissed and Jessica kind of looks relieved. Hmmm, I wonder why they are always on/off. They seem so 'together'.

Update: Jessica and Garrett got engaged. I should give them my card! :)

Stay tuned next week for wooden giraffes and smashing of electronics (maybe it's an homage to Office Space. WOOT!)
